As you probably already know, X-Men had a stellar debut at the box office. Is it deserved? Could all those people be wrong?

What is this? Someone put an ADVERTISEMENT of their own site at Joblo's message board. An ADVERTISEMENT of their COMMERCIAL net site. What the are they thinking?

Oops... The word that's missing from the last sentence is supposed to be "fuck".

I just saw the movie "X-MEN" last night and was entertained the entire time. I like the way the movie the movie worked on the way Wolive allway appealed to the younger members of the the X-Men. He is like the "Old Uncle" who allways understood where they were coming from. The action was also great!!!! I love the fight scene on the
Statue of Liberty between Sabertooth and Logan. Well worth a new movie in my book!!

Hi Tuukka... heheh... I think I'll take your comment as a compliment! =) That is, that my site looks commercial! Woo hoo! /ubb/smile.gif
That means I'm doing something right?!

Far from it. "Looks commercial" is different from "actually being commercial." I know many others have posted links to their reviews on this board. I am but one of them. I had something to offer regarding the new hit X-Men, and thought others might like to see another point of view on it.

I don't know of many who take the time to write reviews, only to not have it seen by others. Do you write reviews which you haven't shared yet? Perhaps you should share them!

I make no money from writing these reviews (actually, I lose, when you factor in labour, hosting, domain name). I am using it as more of a testbed to showcase my web design and content publication skills. So all I ask in return are suggestions on the reviews, so that I may make them better? Yours will do...I wanted to make my site look pro, and I take it from your comments that I succeeded! /ubb/smile.gif Fair enough?

Yeah, I guess... I know that at least homersimpson has put a link to his site at Joblo. But Homer didn't have an advertisement banner and a sponsor at his site. Advertisements at your site make it look like a commercial site... But I have no problem with this. Maybe Joblo could put a links page somewhere in here? People could put links to their own homepages. What do you think, Joblo?

...Anyway, I appreciate someone who does a lot of free work hosting a site like yours, so thumbs up for that, Moviegurus!

I don't really mind folks plugging their own reviews every now and then, mentioning their URL, but as long as that's NOT THE ONLY REASON that they visit the board (i.e. to plug their site).

Bottom line is that the board was created to allow for cool movie discussion, and as long as things don't get out of hand, I suppose that it's allright...every now and then /ubb/smile.gif

Not trying to add more gas to the fire, but if you look carefully, those are Link Exchange banners, a banner exchange program which is not-for-profit, but made for exchanging links. ie. no money to be made there. I think the other banner you speak of is under the sponsor button, which is also one of my own sites (also non-profit).

I wanted to see if I could make a commercial grade site... guess I did! /ubb/smile.gif As a side note, I do this all on my free time. I do have a regular job which pays the bills. /ubb/smile.gif

The link page sounds like a good idea.

Oh, and by posting this original post, I *was* trying to get a "cool discussion" on X-Men going. I had noticed that there were not many recent posts regarding recent movies lately. There was one other post about someone not giving a rat's ass about X-Men which did not have much substance other than unexplained personal dislike. I had hoped to start one here.

Sorry to have caused such a stir! Take care all!

I actually liked the film a lot. Eventhough it deviated from the comic book story line by a few thousand miles, it still was entertaining. It's worth seeing, and if u are woundering what in the movie was different from the comic series, do the research.

Yes, it was a great film(I've seen it five times now). Also, Moviegurus, that was a very good review, your site is actually very informative and I agree with pretty much everything you say.
