I just watched the old school dracula with the new score from Philip Glass and the Kronos quartet. I have to say it improved the movie beyond belief. This has to be the best score ever redone for a movie next to the passion of joan of arc. The new dvd has all sorts of neat interesting features such as the spanish version which I heard alot of people call superior to the english one. I don't know about that since I havent had the time to check it out yet. Just wanted to let the masses know its an excellent buy. The Kronos quartet is also famous for helping do the soundtrack to Requiem for a Dream.

I got to see the Kronos Quartet perform their film score for Universal's Dracula live at the University here in town last Halloween. It was performed at an auditorium as the film played on a huge movie screen - with the Kronos Quartet off to the side playing the music live. One of the coolest Halloween's I've ever had - definitely a night to remember.

I also saw Dracula with Philip Glass's music. The music was fine, but I wonder why Universal hasn't done the same with Frankenstein.

Yeah, I'd like to see Glass tackle the rest of the Universal line-up. His score added a superb extra layer to Dracula. The film benefited greatly from it, in my opinion.
