Favorite Friday the 13th?

Here's mine in order: 2, 1, 3, 4, 6, 5, 7, 8, 9

I like the old-school friday's. And I just can't stand Jason Goes to Hell; to me that's by far the crapiest F13 movie in the series.

Jason Goes to Hell-It serves up in all of the right departments in order to be an entertaining F13 film. There's no holding back when it comes to gore, sex, nudity, and more gore. Who needs an original or groundbreaking storyline when you have all of those key elements in a fun b-movie?

I love the whole series! My favorites are the first two and part six, but Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives is my favorite. Because it changes the slasher rules but still looks like a Friday the 13th film. The ways it changes it are: The heroine, Meagen (Jennifer Cooke) is not an innocent virgin, she is a slut who loves to flirt with Tommy (Thom Matthews). And, the innocent virgin dies. Also, the acting is much better then in most Friday films.

My favorite is maybe the 6th chapter which was almost a spoof movie but anyway it was funny !

No doubt, the best is the first one.

The first is the best as far as quality goes, but my favorite would have to be the FINAL CHAPTER. We got Tom Savini. We got some quality hacking. We got a freaky Jason that RAN. A good pacing. Tense finale. Great method of killing Jason. I will vouch for the FINAL CHAPTER as the horror genre's best attempt to kill off a popular villian. I say attempted because they never actually stay dead...

Another thing I love about it was that Parts 2,3, and the FINAL CHAPTER were really just one big killing spree. This film's was the great big cap off.

I liked part one a lot, but I dunno, it just bored me more than the others...two bored me a little, but something drew me to it more...
4-8 for me are kinda evenly matched, five because I like Tommy best in this one, and I dunno, 3 was kinda kool, but very boring, it was lacking something to draw me in...

1 - good, although not my favorite ( sorry guys ) I would give it a 4.
2 - A 5, definitely. Love Jason in this one and thought the beginning was great!
3 - Didnt care much for the characters or the occurences, kind of boring sequel if you ask me. A 2
4 - Cant remember much on this one. A 3
5 - A 5 ( I know soooo many won't agree ) one of my favorites
6 - This movie actually makes my blood boil when I think of it. 000000!
7 - A 4 - great film

I will actually go with the heyday of the series and say 3-6 as the best.

For all "classicness" of the first one, I just really did not care for the kids. I was not as shocked as I was with other films.

However, 3-6 is when the films hit their stride, they were interesting before they went really dumb. I would include 7 for the sleeping bag scene, but still toying with the idea of where that fits into the saga.

3-6 were like the peak of the series When Jason wore the Hockey Mask I dont think i was old enuff to talk when the 1st came out
when i saw it on tape it was slow and boring as hell until the end I saw 2 on tape was like I need the Hockey Mask Jason I saw at the movies, 5 was wack tho the rest can be watched by any generation.

Well, here's my best to worst of the Friday series:
Part 1-I know it's not very scary compared to the part 2, but since is the first one, I have to give it this place. I always tend to like parts 1 more than the others, just the idea of bringing the story for the first time to a movie. Also, it has excellent effects by Savini.

Part 2- This is very close in style to the first one. Kudos to Miner for keeping the same vibe that Cunningham gave in the first one. Lots more violence and nudity than the first one is always a plus. Also, some of the kills of this movie were inspired by Bava's Bay of Blood. Can't go wrong with using a classic to reference in your movie.

Part 4- Savini comes back and with a vengeance. This one has the best effects of all the Friday films. Also, it's the last one of the Fridays that has the old-school of horror look. Yes, it wasn't the final chapter but hey, at least we got to have Part 6. Fun times.

Part 3- This is not bad but the 3-D effects are sort of cheesy. Also, the first hour of the movie is very boring. But I think that the last 20 minutes are some of the best in any Friday movie.

Part 6- This is the best of the post-Final Chapter Fridays. For me, the Friday series is divided in the pre-Final Chapter and the, well, you got the idea. The movie doesn't take itself seriously but actually that's what makes it work. Jason is quite simply kick ass in this part. Gotta love the James Bond spoof at the beginning. LOL!

Part 9- I think the idea of moving Jason from body to body was pretty lame but I'll admit that he looks vicious in this one. Also, if I'm not mistaken this is the Friday with the most nudity content. Ah, and there's some gore too! Everybody's happy.

Part 7- The story of this is better to Part 9, but the MPAA butchered this one to death. I mean, the gore is almost non-existent. Well, at least we get a decomposed Jason taking it hard from Carrie, er, I mean, Tina, at the end.

Part 5- Still most of us Friday fans are still wondering whose lame idea was to have an impostor Jason? It doesn't work, and the identity of the killer is so predictable that it's no use trying to pretend that any guy in a mask would do. This one is strictly for the trifecta of gorgeous breasts that appear in the movie and to laugh at the Michael Jackson wannabe.

Part 8- Finally, the worst stinker of them all. If the producers would have bothered to feature New York, or whatever location in Canada they made it out to be, maybe I wouldn't hate it so much. Come to think of it, Jason roaming and killing around New York City. Sounds logical to me. Instead, we get Jason meets the Love Boat for past the hour mark. Did I mention also that the MPAA also mutilated this one beyond the damage that the script had already done?

There's my 2 cents.

They were all great but my favorite order (and I know im gonna get booed for this) is:
5, 2, 4, 3, 7, 1, 8, 6, and 9. Hopefully JASON X will be in the top half. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
