Interesting Freddy VS Jason idea.

This would never happen in a million years, so I'm not suggesting that this is what they should do. Instead, I'm giving a kind of "what if" scenario that I think would rule the world.

What if they made two versions of Freddy VS Jason. Not just with two different endings, as has been previously rumoured, but two totally different movies. One directed by Wes Craven, and one directed by Sean S Cunningham.
Now here's the interesting twist. Craven has to direct the movie with Jason as the main character who eventually comes across Freddy and wins, and Cunningham has to direct the movie starring Freddy.
In other words, Craven has to direct a Jason movie, and Cunningham has to direct a Freddy movie.

Again, I'm not suggesting this will happen, so please don't reply with things like "yeah, but Craven would never have Jason kill Freddy". That's obvious. I'm talking about an impossibly ideal world situation. I'm just interested to see what your reactions would be if this was ever announced.

I think I get your point - if two movies were made (which is never gonna happen pal!! :P ), both the Freddy fans and the Jason fans will be satisfied, right?

I dig your idea of interchanging characters between the 2 directors - would be really interesting to see what'll happen if they ever did that... I don't dig your idea of having two movies though - i.m.o. it will never fully satisfy the fans, 'cause they KNOW there's another blasted movies out there where their "Hero" (ahem...) loses...

I don't even know if I fully dig this whole Jason vs Freddy idea... don't know if it's such a good move... then again - I'm not sure if taking Jason into space was such a good idea. I've got to hand it to you, Scully, that's a pretty damn good idea. I especially like the idea of both directors trying to top each other, knowing that fans will be endlessly comparing the two flicks. I little extra motivation never hurts.

With such an interesting post I'm surprised so few people reponded Scully!! This would be an interesting concept to see the two directors different takes on the situations but I think that its better left to our imaginations than to the big screen. I would love it if they did that, hell we would get to differnt horror movies to see and it would be weird to see how differnt each film would be .Then it could come out as a DVD double feature withs double the extras and shit

Wow, I never even saw this topic originally. How did I miss it? Anyways, That is a very good idea Scully! I would like to see the Craven Vs Cunningham idea worked into the movie, but as has been stated, it is unlikely. Good use of the old noggin though!
