7/10 - This is a solid fun movie aimed at the teens but adults may find enjoyable also. It's kinda like Charlie's Angels and Wayne's World just not as good(but it's in that same class of movie fun with no plot). The whole boy band thing was hilarious(DuJour and Backdoor Lover). Tara Reid was funny as the ditsy blond(That line about how she wanted to go back in time so she could meet Snoopy--funny stuff). And kudos to Eugene Levy who put in a 2 minute cameo that had me crackin up.

From Studio Briefing ...

"The AP's David Germain begins his review of Josie and the Pussycats by remarking, "Here's a bad sign for a movie: a reviewer gets in to see it for free, and still wants his money back." Roger Ebert in the Chicago Sun Times calls it a "would-be comedy." And Elvis Mitchell in the New York Times says that watching it is a "misery""

Ebert only gave it a half-star, so I'm not in any hurry to see it...

I could care less what EBERT says, I still think it would be a fun movie... It seems like most of the movie that I love Roger Ebert hated so although I still watch the show, I don't listen to his reviews... If I want to see something, I see it... Besides, not every critic is going to like every movie... And besides some bad reviews this movie seems to have quite a few good ones... Just go to www.rottentomatoes.com (http://www.rottentomatoes.com) and see for yourself... I think it will be so cool, everyone involved seems like they had a fun time making it and I think it will be A LOT of fun. I can't wait to see it... It's gauranteed to be the number one movie this weekend at the box office... I'd say it will make at least 15 million, but I have a feeling it will be more...

Hey,
don't even start with me... Just because I actually want to see this movie and think it looks like brainless fun doesn't mean I have bad taste... We all have our own opinions and I know I'm not alone on this movie, everyone says it's a lot of fun and I know a ton of people that wanna see it... Of course the hot girls help A LOT, with out them I probably wouldn't want to see it... Plus, I love music movies... Anyway, BURN HOLLYWOOD BURN is supposed to suck, so you think I'd like it because I have bad taste, well screw that, I have no intentions of seeing that movie... Just because you don't want to see JOSIE AND THE PUSSYCATS doesn't mean I have bad taste just for wanting to... I've heard pretty much all good things about it so far, it's supposed to be a lot of fun...

I just want to know (and i don't think it really counts as a spoiler) -- do they use the theme song from the cartoon series, and if so, is it the same or a new version?

Hey everyone, I agree with herculeez. Screw the critics! What the hell do they know anyway? /ubb/smile.gif kidding.

No, the movie is very cute and enjoyable. Rachel did a excellent job and I personally went out and bought the soundtrack right after I saw it.

Oh hey, edonline. They use the same theme song but it's the up-to-date-garage-band version of it which is pretty cool actually.

The new Joise songs are sung by ex Letters to Cleo lead singer Kay Hanley, more popular with two songs on the 10 Things I Hate About You Soundtrack. Joise is produced by Babyface.
