PLEASE HELP!!

When i was about 8 or 9 (so, around 1988) there was a movie on TV (possibly made for TV but maybe not) that was of the horror genre and the only thing that i can remember was a big house that had a RED ROOM!!! Almost resembling one of those darkrooms that you develop photos in, but it was red. It's all i can remember, also the music was haunting, very scary, and i am desperately curious if anyone remembers this or knows what i am referring to. Any help would be wonderful!

This is gonna sound really stupid but around this time I saw a film with a mnasion just as u described and I think it was called the Peanut Butter Experiment. Did it have a creepy old person who chased around a little boy?

The 'red room' thing makes me think of "Amityville Horror". The secret room in the basement was painted all red.

THE PEANUT BUTTER SOLUTION had that in it, was there a little boy in it who goes bald then mixes a bunch of crap together and puts it on his head and then his hair will not stop growing? I'm probably thinking of the wrong movie...

Hey I remember PEANUT BUTTER SOLUTION.

It had that old geezer and cue ball kid that has to put some food ingredients to make his hair. Damn that old geezer and his wacky ideas I got in trouble when I was 8 thinking if I put that on my uncles head while he was sleeping it will grow over his nap time... O well I got to see my uncles vain on his forehead pop out.

Thanks for all the help everyone. It wasn't the Amnityville Horror, I've seen that one. The room was on one of the top floors. The Peanut Butter Solution i have never heard of, but the reviews made it look like a family film, and i specifically remember that this one scene with the red room really scared me- is there anything remotely scary or creepy about the Peanut Butter Solution? Unfortunately, this red room is the only thing that i remember from the entire movie!!! Thanks again for the help.
