Did Jerry Dandrige know about Amy?

In Fright Night, did Jerry Dandrige move to Corvalis, Iowa and discover that his nosy neighbor's girlfriend greatly resembled his long lost love by coincidence? Is it possible that he actually knew about Amy and that's the reason why he moved into that town?

I suppose it is possible, but I don't recall there being any hint of this in the movie.

The "woman that resembles my long-lost love" is a common plot twist in vampire movies.

It didn't say in the book, and usually that's where you find plot points that were cut out of the movie.

I been thinking about how vampires like to do a lot of yapping, so maybe he had connections or something. After all, Regine did find out that Jerry was killed... I suppose Evil Ed told her about it.
