Can anyone name these 2 movies?

The titles of these 2 movies elude me and I could need some help.

The first one is about a scientist of some sort, who conducts an experiment involving his daughter's boyfriend. He injects him with something that slowly turns the boy into a snake! The daugther finds out about it near the end, but it's too late to save him.

The second one is about a bunch of apes in a house, that gets out from a room and starts to kill every human in sight. I can't remember much from it, other than I liked the score and in the end a big ape is sitting on top of the house, lighting a cigar, while the house is burning.

I hope someone can help me, as I would like to see them again and perhaps purchase them on DVD.

The first one is the infamous 70's cheese starring Dirk Benedict, later to be cast as Starbuck in Battlestar Galatica, entitled "Ssssssssss..." Yup, that's the name of it.

Asssss for the other one, I can't sssseem to remember it'ssssss name. Ssssssso , I guesssss it'sssssss up to you.

I dont know but that ape movie is gotta be a good black comedy the ape that likes to smoke and watch things burn o thats gold.

I know Links and it was fairly good.
Elizabeth Shue was in this film I think.
I don't remember a lot of it but I know there was a scene where Shue took a shower and the ape was there, observing her.

I'm looking forward to seeing it again when I get it on DVD, one of the things I remember best about it is the score by Jerry Goldsmith.
