Scream vs. IKWYDLS

this is one of the easiest questions ever scream 1 is better. though sarah michelle geller was in i know what you did last summer it seemed like a takeoff off scream to me.

I liked "I Know What You Did Last Summer" pretty well...I never heard of "Scream 1"... but I did like the film "Scream" more than "IKWYDLS"... Where can I find "Scream 1"? I would like to check it out...I mean, "Scream", "Scream 2" and "Scream 3" were a decent trilogy, you should check them out after you finish watching "Scream 1". Is "Scream 1" a foreign film? If so, does it have lots of subtitles? /ubb/wink.gif

I'd definately say Scream is the better film. It gave a breath of fresh air in the horror field, and brought it back to life. IKWYDLS is just an average slasher, although it is enjoyable.

No comparison. No contest. The SCREAM series rules! I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER was mediocre at best (stick with the novel), and its sequel, I STILL KNOW... sucked rather large testicles.

Rocky is cool- if memory does serve me right, the role of ''Stu Macher'' was down to Matthew Lillard and Freddie Prinze Jr., and of course Matthew got the role (thank god).....man I don't know what I would have done if Freddie got the role....god damn I dispise him....

No way! I so didn't know that! I'm glad that MATTHEW LILLARD got the role as well! Even though i like FREDDIE PRINZE JR i don't think he'd make a very convincing psycho. He's too much of a good guy.

I saw scream and only part of I know, but I
thought scream was OKAY for your typical teen
slasher film. I DIDN'T care for the middle to
the end when those guys joked about being the
killer and the dumbass acting at the end when
what'shisname got stabbed and it got worse
after that. Could've had a better ending, but
still a decent film overall.

I would hate Freddie Prinze even more if he were in Scream. It's bad enough he was in IKWYDLS with Sarah, but he would have ruined one of the best charactors in Scream if he played Stu.

There's a big difference...

"Scream" was a nudge-nudge, wink-wink, spoof of horror movies whose dialouge was filled with a plethora of "hip" pop culture references.

"I Know What You Did Last Summer" played it totally straight, without any sense of irony or self-referential humour over the conventions of the genre

I thought "I Know What You Did Last Summer" had a strong initial set up but gradually deteriorated over time...and had plot holes big enough to drive trucks through...

Plus, despite being a horror movie fan, I hate slasher movies (with a few notable exceptions) so I liked the jokey approach of "Scream" better.

scream was really good cuz they had a director who knows how to make a movie scary and a cast who fit each role perfectly.

IKWYDLS looked good SMG was good in it.i dont know about JLH through,shes ok but i think she could of been better in it.ryan phillipee(<-spelling?) was good as the prick and was fun when he got his.freddie prinze jr. was scarier then the fisher man.if i saw a fisher man with a hook headed my way i would be scared but if i saw freddie prinze jr. heading my way i would run into the arms of the fisher man.

anyway why did SMG die in this film? i thought she was buffy? if they switched sarah with jennifer then the film who be better

IKWYDLS was nowhere near as good as scream, Scream had tension, "summer" didnt, Scream had good characters, IKWYDLS didnt (it just has SMG and JLH) Scream was good, IKWYDLS wasnt
