Yup, my faves being:

"Interview With The Vampire"
"Bram Stoker's Dracula"
"Blade"
"Dracula" (Frank Langella version)
"Nosferatu"
"John Carpenter's Vampires"
"Dracula 2000"

the recent "Queen Of The Damned" I have seen three times in theatres. It's quite under-rated to my mind...

I enjoy all different kinds of horror flicks, including vampire movies. I wouldn't say they are my favorite type of horror film, but it's difficult for me to choose favorites.

Bela Lugosi IS Dracula.

That being said, I'd have to agree on Fright Night being a good one, but I'm surprised no one has mentioned Near Dark yet. That is probably my favorite vampire flick.

Sadly, it's been quite a long time since a good vampire movie was made. Too many nowadays are just special effects crap, with no decent actors, who get all the mythos confused or just plain wrong. Hopefully someone will release a decent one soon....

You couldn't pay me to watch Lost Boys (yawn..zzzz), Interview with a Vampire(blargh), The Forsaken(HORRID), or Dracula 2000(Yo, G-dawg...sigh) again. Some of the worst "vampire" films ever made. There goes several hours of my life I'll never get back.

And I know a crappy movie when I see one.

I sat through Howling 6 for crying out loud(which I did)....if you've seen it, you know my pain.

I love vamp flicks too, but why are they done soooo badly sometimes when they could be soooooo good? Drac2000 by craven was v.bad. What was the whole Jesus thing about? Dracula is a classic, why spoil it!
P.S Fright night rules! I love chris Sarrandon in it, he really pulled of the cheese!

I also like some of the Hammer dracula films too

and i too sat through Howling 6...the pain the agony......

Oh dear, I forgot "Tale Of A Vampire"!!! How could I forget that????????????????????

I do like "Dracula 2000" and "Interview With The Vampire" but I see why others wouldn't. They deviate from the books and the latter has it's fair share of "Vamp-angst" (TM).

Oh, and yes "Howling 6":

TO THE ABYSS WITH THEE! FOUL HELLSPAWN!

Yeah, I like the Hammer films a lot.
The Lost Boys is my favorite vampire flick ever !!
They are " modern " vampires and they have a lot of potential.
For once Schumaker directed a very good film and a classic.
You have Near Dark ( Biggelow ) which is atmospheric and a bit gloomy.
and the others ...

Damn teenkiller if you havent seen this fine vampire flick get up your arse and go buy this modern day classic!!!

All the ones mentioned are great but I also enjoyed in a really great way one of the hammer films called "Horror of Dracula" man was that flick good. See this right after you see FRIGHT NIGht and you will see were the creators of fright night got theyre inspiration! Its uncanny how much fright night was influenced by horror of dracula!

Oh and welcome to the board http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Fright Night is my absolute favorite movie. Jerry Dandrige rules! I also like the sequel. Nosferatu the Vampyre is good, along with Shadow of the Vampire. And the orginal Nosferatu with Max Schreck and Dracula with Bela Lugosi.

Yah, vampire movies are grrrrrreat. They make the world go round, and are essential to everyday life. I'm a fan of From Dusk Till Dawn, Fright Night 1 and 2, the Blade films, Near Dark, Vamp, JC's Vampires, Shawdow of the Vampire, the original Dracula flick, etc.

YES, YES, HORROR OF DRACULA
Chris Lee is superb as the Daddy of all vamps, and a lot of films take scenes from this baby.
Try DRACULA:Prince of Darkness for more of this great Hammer stuff.
LOVE AT FIRST BITE,is hilarious and George Hamilton is great. Renfield takes his "Lunch" to Drac's love interest's publicist.

Yeah this film is great allright. You know Van Helsing in this film (played by Peter Cushing...excellent by the way) I think was the basis for Peter Vincents character in Fright Night in fact they sort of make fun of him in it right?Like for example in that scene where Peter Vincent the Great Vampire killer is gonna put a stake through some vampire chicks heart his stake is backwards anyone ever notice that?.. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
