In my opinion the creatures from the 1920's horror films are much more creepy than alot of the stuff we see today. Nosferatu for example. Also nothing to do with ths but I saw on DRIVEN:MARILYN MANSON in VH1 I saw a increadbly fucked up devil that gave me the creeps!

I agree, the monsters were ten times more creepy. But I think that's because the special effects weren't so good (no shit), and so the directors had to find ways and original ideas to make their own monster look as scary as possible. As a result the monsters ended up being better than the monsters we have today in CGI-packed movies directed by lazy bums.

Nosferatu is definately a whacked out flick. I also like Phantom and the Cabinet of Doctor Caligari.
