Hey all still looking for any clue about this film ...I'm in search of the title of an old - black & white - & I *think* a Hammer film. The film featured several different stories that all tied in together at the end. It's been years but I recall two sequences, one about a game of hide and seek in a castle where a girl meets a weeping ghost in a secret room, and another about a guy who keeps dreaming of a hearse pulling up to his door. It's an old horse drawn hearse and the driver looks up at the guy in the window and says, just room for one more sir! I won't spoil the ending of that one in case someone out there knows what film this was.
Many thanks!

"Just room for one more" is from the brilliant "Dead of Night" 1945

It's been so many years since I saw it, and then only once, but it made quite an impression. Honestly I'd forgotten about the doll! Which is funny since the "killer doll"
Twilight Zone & Night Gallery episodes scared me senseless as a kid, and who could forget Trilogy of Terror. ;-) Oddly, Chuckie just gets on my nerves but is amusing in small doses.
I had no idea they banned horror movies in Britain during the war, but I guess I can understand their reasoning. Still, I think for many people horror, and especially ghost stories, can be cathartic.
It doesn't look like it's going to be as easy as I'd like to find a copy of this film, unfortunately...
Blessings,
Benditabee
