I busted out my old genesis with all my old games and I was really surprised and happy with zombies ate my neighbors. I had totally forgot how cool it was and how many different horror movie genres it pokes fun at. It was really entertaining and if you have the means I really suggest you horror fans out there to give it a whirl.

I had a lot of fun with that game back in the day. I never owned it, but rented the Genesis and SNES versions on a few occasions. If I ever see one around (or look on eBay) I may just pick one up.
I loved the cheesy movie title screens and music. Great game.

I love this game, I still have it and I play it every once in awhile. I still have all the codes written down. I remember I had a bitch of a time defeating it! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/tongue.gif

Now that Ive been replaying the game for awhile I now realize it might have been one of the hardest games ever. Thank god for game genie because after that toddler it only gets worse. If you beat this game pat yourself on the back because it's a bitch to get through even while cheating. The levels kept dishing out the creativity later on though.

Yeah, it's definately a tough game to get through. I love how much stuff (zombies, werewolves, vampires, mummys, hockey-masked maniacs with chainsaws, graboids from Tremors, killer dolls, and more) is packed into this game. Lots of fun.
Whoever made Bloody Murder must've played this game cause there's one level where a whole bunch of Trevor Moorehouses (hockey mask guys with chainsaws) chase u around labyrinth

Damn I thought i was the only one to like this game. It totally rocked back when I had it in 94. It was and I think still is one the hardest games I have ever played and when I finished I jumped and screamed and hollered, man was it a hard game. The giant baby was one the hardest parts but so where those fucking martians in the football field who kept dissapearing everytime you where gonna get them. If I remember correctly the weapons in that game were really weird, like forks and spoons and bubblegum! cool game wish I still had it.
Yeah, that was one kick arse game. Nothing like a B-movie horror video game. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/cool.gif

I love this game! I've got a Super Nintendo emulator on my PC and play it all the time (along with Mario Cart). The creators of this game were Schmoes ahead of their time, as the amount of horror films referenced in this game is staggering.
You get zombies, werewolves, martians, vampires, frankensteins, mummys, creatures from the black lagoon, hockey-masked maniacs, giant spiders, killer dolls, 50-ft babies (!), giant ants and all the haunted houses, castles shopping malls and other locations that you could possibly want!
I've got the sequel too (the imaginatively titles Zombies Ate My Neighbours 2) but it's nowhere near as good as the first one.
Any Schmoes without this should download a SNES emulator today and track this game down!
(I'll post a link if I can find it)

Here's a link right here.

This is a cool site for SNES fans. It has all the classics (in fact I believe it has just about every SNES game released) including Zombies Ate My Neighbours. The best emulator is of course the wonderful ZNES. If any of you schmoes have never indulged in any Emulator related fun then you ain't lived. Head on over to www.retrogames.com (http://www.retrogames.com) to see what's what.

I had "Ghoul Patrol" which i always thought the sequel to Zombies and yeah it was pretty piss poor... i mean it may have been horror but where were the sly nods to classic movies? It all kinda degenerates into standard fare, with very little of the unique charm and playability of the original... Unless... there was another sequel which i missed?!?
I too have sussed out the old emulators recently, been playing zombies ate my neighbour online http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Oh yeah ... just for the record, Mario Kart aside, Zombies was prolly my fave 16bit game...

I friggin' loved this game as a kid! It was one of the first ones I got when I got an SNES for Christmas. Ahh, the memories...with the help of a tips guide, I made it to the secret level where you can trash up George Lucas' office. Hehe, good times.
Those damn spores were a bitch, though.
