errmmm... I dont like it at all..

I'm not into the DVD thing yet, but when I do, I think I'd be interested in finding original covers.

Romero, trust me, if you love movies, you should seriously consider getting a dvd player. I felt ashamed of myself when I bought one about a month ago because I have hundreds of VHS. The picture quality is exquisite and the sound is amazing. Plus, the extras could keep you entertained for hours.

Vincent, I'm actually thinking that it'd be better if I wait for a while. Hopefully then I'll have no problem finding anything I want. Besides, i'm taking mucho advantage of the VHS' going for REALLY cheap EVERYWHERE!! I've bought sooo many movies in the past few months, that its not even funny.

I think it looks like a shitty cover, but shitty cover art, for a shitty movie, and oh yeah, i despise DVDs.

I really would have preferred the original cover art but that ain't too shabby.

Matt

P.S. although fans have been saying Paramount will probably release a director's cut box set after we've bought the whole series, I really have to disagree. I don't think they respect the fans enough to do something like that. Most will think that's punishment after we've spent so much on the other DVDs but I'd say they're being overly generous, and we all know Paramount is anything but that. Sorry for the long P.S.

The release dates for both Friday the 13th 7 and 8 are posted in Current/Upcoming horror flicks but here they are.

September 24th for both. That's the same release date as Jason X.

On that same date, My Bloody Valentine and April Fools Day will be released on DVD.

The cover looks good. Paramount makes me sick. They milked JASON all through the 80's and when he became unprofitable for them they sold him. Now more than a decade later they won't even release decent dvd's. Fukcers. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

I'm a borderline Jason takes Manhatten fan, but this cover art is almost enough to push me over the edge. I think it's kinda funny that they continue to false advertise this movie. We all know it had very little to do with Manhatten. Oh, well. I'm not going to shell the money out for a bare bones, bad transfer dvd anyways.

You know, I kinda like this cover better than the original!

Cool cover, but to be more truthful to the story, they might as well have had Jason's mask on a ship marked "MANHATTAN."

Well said Steve! I found Jason Lives two weeks ago for only six bucks! And they are selling the new films like Dagon,Crocodile 2,The Devils backbone,Campfire stories for only 10 bucks! I think DVDs are getting rather cheap now though,at my local Video Update(Now named Movie Gallery)they are selling Halloween 8 for only 20 bucks,Octopus 2 for 12 dollars(Even though im sure its worth less, its still a good price)Shark Hunter for 12(horrible flick though). But back to the Jason takes manhattan cover art. Its beyond bad. I always loved the old VHS cover art of this movie, with the non CGI-ed mask over the city holding a knife to its face. Even more so,the I love new york poster, but that was banned anyway. This new DVD sleeve makes me want to puke. And even though I dont own this DVD,Id say it also wants to make me gag. No trailer. Not even the famous teaser. Paramount SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How could they do this?!! Im all for good picture and sound quality, but no features for one of the most famous horror movie series in the entire world is just terrible. Lets hope what I heard over the internet about special edition DVDs is true. Until then,f*** you Paramount.
