Take Robert England, elvira,Evil ED,and many others who started out as horror Icons, but for the last Decade have turned out Piss-poor horror, bombed so bad no studio will fund their sorry asses,or have left altogether?

Who do you think has gone off the radar?

Lady Summerisle

Thom Mathews of F13:6 and RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD.
Now he does piss poor actioners.

Heather Lagenkamp from NOES. She is not a name in horror.

Jeanette Goldstein in ALIENS and NEAR DARK. She just petered out, but James Cameron still employs her.

From GREMLINS to Fear Street, that is a long way down the respectability ladder.

Fear Street and Goosebumps are basically the same stories with different titles.

There are so many, including all of the FRIDAY THE 13TH leading ladies (especially Amy Steel and Adrienne King), as well as Anne-Marie Martin of PROM NIGHT (who is now a screenwriter married to Michael Crichton), Pamela Susan Shoop (HALLOWEEN II), and Nancy Allen (CARRIE). I wish these lovely ladies were still doing horror films (at least playing the heroine's mother, like Candy Clark in CHERRY FALLS).

What about some of the friday Directors?Where have Tom Mclouglin,Joe Zito,or danny Steinman?

Steve Miner's last was lake Placid. It did lukewarm business, and the chezzy Texas Rangers whent DTV?

Jasons Daddy Sean Cuningham has not directed a movie in 12 years.

I'm sorry to say Jason Voorhies is one himself.I like the big j ,but a 13 million gross at the boxoffice is not that great.

Does anyone think boxoffice take really matter when it comes to horror? Even if it is on video.

PHANTASM is still thriving on video. Reggie Bannister is by no means a horror has-been if you look at his steady stream of work.

OddEmu:Thank you so much for that list. It still hurts me that my beloved Ed has been going south for so many years. *sigh* What a waste of a perfectly good nubile horror geek. The things I could have done...

My personal favorite of his:
Buff and Gay Men in Uniform Who Crave Big Latin Crotch Rockets On the Beach (1999)
and the forgotten and often misunderstood,
Butt Pit Cock Blazer (2000)

Butt seriously...

Linnea Quigley. What the hell happend? I thought she had some talent. Really. She could do her thing well. Even if it did involve latexing her rack most of the time.

I always thought of the sadder disappearing acts in horror was Adrienne Barbeau. She now, I think, cameos in various Lifetime Television for Women movies as "Alcoholic Crack Whore No.2."

Others:
Doug Bradley-too talented an actor to constantly be a sado-masochist from Hell.
Brad Dourif- ok, not a has been, but in dire need of role in which he plays a human not made of polyeuthene. He's too damn talented.
Larry Drake-where oh where is Larry Drake?
Micheal Ironside-waiting to see his face on a milk carton.

On the subject of everyones fave doll and professional creepy dude: BRAD DOURIF

His work in
EXORCIST 3
DUNE (Ahh, Sting in a codpiece, Kyle McLachlan acting, scary!)
GRAVEYARD SHIFT
SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION
ALIEN 4
CHILDS PLAY series
BODY PARTS
was fabulous.
I miss this screechy, nervous looking, bug-eyed actor who has disappeared from peripheral range.
HE does not deserve has been status.

Well for the horror genre to thrive, there has to be a good supply of Boxoffice winners to keep hollywood happy to make more.

To the coke-loving Producers,Boxoffice is everything.I dont share the opinion, cuze horror on video seems to have a shelf life.

But unless there are some hits,Horror could return to the DTV Ghetto, like it was in the late 80's,and you will have another Drought of endless chezze popping up on tape, which is what killed the genre in the 1st place.

Untill Scream brought it back.

There were alot of promising Directors on the scene. What happened?

Alex Proyas started with the superior comic adaptation of the crow, and did one better with the very excellent Dark City.
But it failed to find an audience BIG time.

Where the hell is he now?

Tony Hickox had the Waxwork series which should have put him on the big time, but he ended doing lame sequels to Hellraiser and warlock?
Full Eclipse showed waxwork was no fluke,so why does he make DTV action chezze?

Perhaps the biggest Mystery of all is were the Hell Michele Soavi is?

Stage Fright, and Cemetary Man both showed that he had style to burn.Did Argento get him Blacklisted?

How about Lance Guest? He made the great HALLOWEEN II and THE LAST STARFIGHTER, then he went off and made the shitty JAWS: THE REVENGE!

Kevin Williamsen made the great THE FACULTY and the unnecesary SCREAM 2, and the shitty TEACHING MRS. TINGLE and co-wrote the original script to HALLOWEEN H20 which was in some ways superior to the final film. I haven't heard of anything new of his lately. I don't watch Dawson's Creek so I wouldn't hear about him doing stuff on that!

I was wondering about Joseph Zito & Kevin Williamson myself. What about Julian Sands? He created the Warlock, then abandoned it. Piper Laurie popped up as Mrs. Olsen in THE FACULTY. Supposedly, Steve Miner has quite a few horror flicks underway, so he's still around. As far as the term "HAS-BEEN" goes: Adrienne Barbeau~yeah, she saved THE CONVENT, but really; John Carpenter~he used to have so much class, now just mediocre; Jamie Lee Curtis~where the hell is SHE?! Sure, a cameo in the new HALLOWEEN, but where's she been? Verizon?!

Williamson is gonna do cursed, yet another serial-killer movie. It was anounced in 2000,so where the hell is it.

Mrs Tingle sucked ass big time!

I think Jaws 4 killed Lance's career.It almost killed Michael Caine's !

Thanks for the info,ominous__oat, on my fave Brad of al time.
However, I think LOTR is overrated.
I am saddened to see that Brad Dourif is not doing classy horrors like Exorcist 3 anyomre.

Ominous Phone Call,
Julian Sands got blacklisted from doing eve good horrors after the putrid (but amusing) BOXING HELENA.
Know why he abandoned the Warlock franchise: DID YOU SEE PART 3? I s that not proof enough.
Although he did a great turn in ROSE RED. Which should elevate him a little. He will always be my fave version of Percy Shelly.
Frenching Gabriel Byrne can't be easy.

Yeah, but after Brad plays in LOTR, he should get his career rolling again...this is how I visualize it in my head:

Hollywood Big Shot: Hey who's that guy with the crazy eyes in that really popular movie that won lots of money?

Hollywood Big Shot's Personal Slave: Brad Dourif sir, he's best known for his work in Childs Play sir.

What happened to William Ragsdale anyway???

Lady Summerisle
06-12-2002, 08:46 PM
William Ragdale turned up on a really good series, which I can't remember the name. It was about the production of a soap opera like Beverly Hills 90210.Look up his name on IMDB.
I think he also did another sitcom, too, but can't remember it.

I think we can persuade Herman to come back to the old haunt.

Klownzilla

It was Grosse Point. That was the show Ragsdale was on. Now, he makes guest appearances on Judging Amy. Before the movie is made, I call for a reunion with Ragsdale, Stephen Geoffreys, Chris Sarandon, and Amanda Bearse.

Lady Summerisle

Stephen Geoffreys can play a man who is fighting for custody of his son because his ex- wife found out he was doing pornos.
William Ragsdale is the new husband of Goeffrey's ex, who is played by Amanda Bearse.

Amy has to intervene in the case, and goes to Chris Sarandon for help.

Jonatathon Stark (Billy Cole) shows up as a fellow porn star who defends Geoffrey's parenthood skills.
