The Creeper is... (SPOILER 4 JEEPERS CREEPERS!!!!!)

...Gay!!!

Yep, just caught Jeepers Creepers again on DVD and noticed this really cool subtext to the film.
Anyone else notice it?

The Evidence:

-The psychic says that it only eats what it likes. Not once does it eat a woman.
-Actually woman are always tossed forcefully aside - The cat woman, the women cop, Trish.
-The tongues-and-all kiss with the cop’s head (who Trish likened to a strippergram btw).
-His sniffs the sexless psychic woman and then lets her live. She’s obviously terrified so fear isn’t the only requisite for a good feed.
-The creeper’s swagger has a slight touch of mince (I’m scraping a bit here).
-In the end when the creeper is sniffing the two siblings he’s clearly having a last ‘bout of conflicting feelings (Even superhuman monsters can be sexually ambivalent y’ know!) but in the end his true feelings triumph!
-The sequel has the Creeper attacking what? Exactly. A bus full of American Football jocks. I rest my case.

Well then, it's settled. Victor Salva is living out his homoerotic fantasies vicariously through The Creeper. Seriously, you might be dissecting the film a bit too much. I'm sure that those instances are purely coincidental. If that isn't the case, then The Creeper is my favorite homosexual villain in all of horror!

If we look hard enough I'm sure we could find evidence of every male horror villian ever being a homosexual.

Example: Michael in the first halloween where that girl showed him her breasts and said "See anything you like?" then he just preceeded to kill her.

There are definitely many undertones of homosexuality in Jeepers Creepers.
To add to the above list, Justin Long thinks that the licence plate says Gay Forever (but it actually says Sexy Forever)
Personally, I loved Jeepers Creepers, it was quite the wild ride!

The gay undertones were kinda obvious during the extras (commentary and stuff). Seems Salva liked Justin Long more so than Gina. ^^;

How do you know it's not human? One theory put forward by Darry - and my own personal favourite explanation since the film is set in the redneck county (and we've all the heard the redneck jokes) - is that the Creeper is some twisted result of inbreeding.
I'm not saying it's definate, it's just one further aspect to this film which I truely believe was not unintentional.

Man...this whole subject has beat into the ground before. I've seen so many threads discussing this very subject on so many different message boards, arguments going round in circles like some stupid snake eating it's tail. Fact is...the guy stood trial and did his time. There is no law to say that when someone gets out of prison, for whatever crime, that they can't make movies. Clownhouse was good. Powder was very good...very underrated. Jeepers Creepers though not being the saviour of the horror genre that some fans make out was undoubtably one of the better genre movies of recent times. None of this in any way makes what he did even a little bit ok. I even believe that he should have received a harsher sentence. I even find it a little difficult to disassociate some of the images he puts on screen with his crime. But at the end of the day he is a talented genre movie-maker and we don't have so many of those these days.

Thats a good idea too.Driving home from the movie last september,I wondered what it was.

1)He(IT)
comes out every 23 years for 23 days.What the hell does it do in the meantime?

I think its a person in the 23 years.
That's his truck he drives while in human form,and all the dead bodies in the church are his "costume".

All the clues to what it is are under the church ,on that table.

Or it could be gay!

there really is a lot of Shady, homosexual undertone in the movie; but whether the Creeper is gay or not is pretty inconsiquential....one of the greatest parts about the movie is that you never know ANYTHING about the Creeper and its probably better that you shouldn't. 'Cause the Guy is one badd azz mofo...


Its obvious that the ridiculously romantic "adoration of the Lamb" BullSh*t was put there intentionally...perhaps as a little bit of Self mockery...

I know that the creeper is an IT but Victor Salva made the creature fancy Derry. In the script it probably wasn't blunt like, "ok, the creeper will be very strange looking with scaly skin...and he likes to fuck men".
They were UNDERTONES not OVERTONES. It was a creature with no sexual preference filtered through Mr. Salva's mind so the creature did many things that would seem gay to many viewers. The creeper was also made to resemble an old creepy man. There were many undertones of molestation. I think Mr. Salva was venting some repressed feelings.
But I feel all of these things add to the overall mood of the film.

He didn't only eat his eyes, he hollowed the entire body out, what we saw was his skinned body.

The song Jeepers Creepers is about someone's eyes, the creeper wanted Derry's eyes primarily.

We don't know if there was any left, they never said anything like that.

The number 23 wasn't explained either.
