What do you guys look for in a Horror movie?

What do you guys look for in a horror movie?For me it would be nudity and gore.And why do you guys rent horror movies?I know it's a lame question and is probably posted somehwere else,its just that i am bored and drunk.Talk to you guys later.

Depends on my mood. When I look for a good horror movie, I want a good story, cool effects, a certain amount of gore and of course TnA.

I also like bad horror movies, in which case I look for chessy effects a certain amount of humor, and TnA.

I look for realism, although I often enjoy splatter movies like dead alive. But movies that take themselves seriously, kinda like Seven, TCM, From Hell, The Shining, extc. Ones that have a darkness to them but seem almost as if they could be real. Something anyone could be capable of if they were so inclined. No cheap thrills just utter disgust, but thats me.

I look to be entertained, not just for horror movies but for all movies, i dont care if there story or gore or nudity as long as it entertaining and fun, i will like it, the movie could be confusing as fuck, but if its not boring, its good to me, as long as its not boring, it will be what i look for, but then again we all have different opinions on what "boring" is. oh well, this long winded post i will end right about now.

I look for a horror film that has good gore and a kick ass plot. Good characters are a must as well.

I'm known by my friends as "the guy who would be the bad movie geek on Beat The Geeks" so my tastes are very different...
it's really all about expectations...if I see a Fred Olen ray movie, I expect (and usually get) no wasted takes, wooden acting, cheesy dialog, excessive gore, nudity and massive continuity flaws...
if I see an "acclaimed" movie, I'd like to see some decetn acting, production values and where the money was spent...
if a movie was made for $100,000 I want to see $100,000 if the movie was 150 million, I want to see that 150 million...
if it is a "shot on video" production, I want some excessive gore and nudity to accompany my fake rubber monsters, serial killers played by someone's dad, etc.

right now i find myself wantin to rent and see pointless no plot killin movies like slumber party massacre (which was a great movie) and wut was it about, Girls gettin naked then dyin cant get any better than that. and no im not some perverted freak....im just tired of the serious horror thats all i was into for a while.
