I know it sounds daft but could some one please exsplain the ending of a nightmare on elm street 1 please as it just leaves me confused. thanx im only young lol

I think it's one of those up in the air type endings. It seems to me she's still in a dream.I haven't seen Nightmare 3 in a while, I can't recall if she explained it or not, or just brushed over it. Dunno...I could never quite undertsand it either....

It wasn't supposed to end that way. Wes Craven wanted everything to turn back to normal because that ending contradicts the whole entire ending. But the producer insisted to film that scene with the arm to set up for a sequel. Since the producer was one of the only people who believed in the project and helped get it off the ground Craven just compromised and filmed the scene. It really isnt supposed to make sense its just there for shock and sequel marketing value.
