Why are we so keen to horror movies?

Yeah, why do we anticipate, like so much horror movies?
When a movie is going to be released, although we know what is it about, the lowdown, the cast, etc...we still like to go to see it and we enjoy it like hell! WHY?
I myself can't answer, I love watching horror movies, doesn't matter how bad they are, I still enjoy a lot watching them.
Why are we so damn keen to our movies!?
What do you think on the issue.

Good question man. Most horror movies are loked at as chessy or dumb, and some are just laughable, but I love 'em all.

My parents let me watch a bunch or movies as a kid, and one of my earliest memories was a kid being ran over by a steam-roller in Maximum Overdrive. That might have something to do with it.

I think it all depends on the person.I personaly like the horror movies that and either really bad/corny or movies that are seriouse.It all depends on the person.And i think that the people who look at "Faces of Death" and "rotten.com" are truly sick.Just my thought though.

Man, believe me...you are not alone, I really dig gore in movies but rotten.com is just sick...

I think there people who really need help. all the gore in movies we know is at least mainly fake but that isent aand that is the difference

Not that I frequent those sites, but I think it is completely pointless to try to label someone (or a group of people) whom you've never met.

Maybe I'm going out on a limb here, but I would bet that not everyone who has ever watched Faces of Death or been to Rotten.com is a sick individual. Maybe some are (I'll agree wholeheartedly there), but people check those things out for many different reasons. Not all are bad.

We had a whole discussion about this 2 months ago, I highly recommend you browse old threads in "gen horror" and you'll find it.

You might learn something about not being so judgmental.

But hey, whatever.
