I have to agree with arrow the ending is ambigious but at the same time so disturbing. I also like the performance of Paolo. He was great but at times I thought he kind of looked like Pauly Shore gone nuts. It was a good movie. A classic and very disturbing.

Paolo Rotondo was really convincing playing Simon Cartwright.
Great great movie from Reynolds !!
New Zealand can give us good film, see Aberration, too. ( not sure of the title but it is about a woman that must fight against small dinausors )

The Ugly is the ultimate horror flick of the 90's. I loved every minute of it.

I liked The Ugly, but the ending felt incomplete to me. The tension was rising, my eyes were fixated on the television screen, all of my focus was on Simon's actions, and then everything just stopped. I wanted more...

its suppose to make u want to see more. there's a sense of closure in the movie for the moment because "the visitors" no longer bother him for the moment, but he's out there now and anything can happen...

on the other hand there can never be true closure to a film like that, thus making it all the more unnerving and unforgettable.

I remember first seeing it when it first came out on video and was blown away by it. Great movie.
