these r the best movies of those decades with the best sequels although some might say friday the 13th is better than nightmare *shivers* anyway which movies in ur own opinion spawned the worst sequels (*hint* prom night, silent night deadly night) or no sequels at all (terror train, the burning)
and out of the movies so far from 2000-present day which movie will be the best 9i think Final Destination finally a really good non slasher) and does anyone disagree with anything !?

I actaully enjoyed the silent night deadly night and prom night sequels, SNDN 2 is good. SNDN 5 is good. PN 2, 3 are good. part 1 was boring. scream sucks total ass. halloween is and always will be overratted and bad, nightmare is good, and the sequels are good too. i too am not a great big fan of friday movies, but 5-6-7-9 were pretty amusing, i am indifferent about the rest, and oh yeah, final destitation is crap too.

and 2 words: Black Christmas.

I liked SNDN as well, I also agree the original Halloween is overrated, and that Scream is as well. Just my opinions.

Damn my screenwriting heart, but Scream was well written and wonderfully directed. Wes Craven is one of the best when it comes to horror. Scream recognized the rediculous things characters in horror movies do, and plays on them. Hell of a lot more creative then, let's say, Friday the 13th.

Friday the 13th had it's moments, but overall, pales in comparison to Scream, ANOES, or Halloween. The writing was just awful in most of the Friday the 13th series. Two people have sex then they get killed. No horror movie is really all that creative, but that is the least creative concept. Hell, Final Destination was better than Friday the 13th. It's a shame movies had to resort to showing more blood to make money, instead of concentrating more on a script.

As series in it's entirity goes, here is my grade:

ANOES series: B+
Scream series/trilogy: B
Halloween series: C+
Friday the 13th series: D

HALLOWEEN is THE greatest movie and movie series that has ever been released. Without this movie, we wouldn't have much to talk about on these boards!

LONG LIVE MICHAEL MYERS!!!!

Black Christmas is the best, if there was no Black Christmas there'd be no HalloweeN, Black Christmas invented the stalk 'n' slash movies
