Ya know I love the Matrix but I have one question that keeps bothering me.

Why do they seem to keep going more primitive with the weapons. I mean isn't Neo able to kill with his bare hands now and even fly!

But it seems like they want to go back to ancient Japan. And why would the AI's use antiquated weapons.

I know it looks cool but a movie has to look more than cool for me to like it.

I hope they have a valid reason.

Good call, though while fighting 10 agent smiths or 10 of the viruses, it would be alot easier to pick up a giant pole and beat em' with that to keep them all as far away from you as you can as oppose to geting to up close and personal. Punching and kicking would be hard against multiple agents/viruses, though you do raise a good question, we'll have to see to find out!

They are all duplicates of agent smiths, According to an old interview with Joel Silver, their using Computer effects in most scenes and ocasional stand ins with the fighting scenes with multiple agent smiths.

The story is that the agents put a virus into the matrix (white guys with dreds) with hopes that the virus will eliminate neo and the potentials, when the virus is put into the matrix, it starts duplicating ("in scene, Morpheous slashes a virus in half and two viruses are made"- Joel Silver). When this happens a threat is brought upon the matrix and the virus might whipe out the whole sysyem (agents included) so now the agents also have to stop the virus as well as the potentials as well as the old agents vs. potentials deal...

Firstly, the movie is not just great for it's stylized and great direction, it's great, stunning visual effects, it's solid script and great battle scenes. It's good performances and great cinematography.

IT GOES DEEPER from the EXPLOSIOTIONS and BULLET-TIME and Digital EFFECTS...

The movie talks about the slavery of the human race by machines. Something which is true, we are all addicted to our machines: CPU's, Mobile Phones, Cars, THE INTERNET, TV's, Radio's, Cd's, DVD's, VCR's.... We have all watched TV for hours, we all surf on the net--at least twice a week or every day. We are dominated by machines not like in the movie but surely in another way. I can't remember the last time i walked 10 miles on a working day--do you?

-notice when Agent Smith is talking to Morpheus (when he's captured) that he explains how the first Matrix was a paradise and everyone was happy - wouldn't that be like the Garden of Eden?

-Neo is "the one", notice how Neo is an anagram for one.


-It's been said that Neo being an anagram for "one". I think it's more important to realise that Neo means "new". His real name is Thomas Anderson. He is called Thomas at the beginning of the movie, when he doubts the truth -- that the world as he knows it is not real. Thomas is the "doubting" disciple in the Bible. Moreover, Anderson means "son of man". Hence, Neo Anderson is the New Son of Man. The biblical references go on and on... Trinity, Nebucadnezzar (the name of the ship -- in fact, the name plate on the ship makes reference to a verse in Mark chapter 3), Zion... So not only is Neo "the One", he has gone from being the doubter to the new son of man.

People do not search the subcontent of the movie or they do not even look beyond the surface of a movies content, that's why they do not like it/ because ok you don't like the sci-fi part but it gives some serious messages DUDE, you just can't ignore that one--and they are POSITIVE ones. The Matrix gives you many things to feed your eye and your brain, all you can do is reach for them.

ONe of the sci-fi movies that uses CGI to tell a story, not a story to show CGI.

The pictures look great. The second part should be even Better--from every aspect.

Um, wh do you bother coming into a thread so noticably about The Matrix if you hate it? If I hated The Matrix, I would try and avoid Matrix topics. I do not see a need to come into a thread full of excited and happy Matrix fans to badmouth it without even giving a reason for your hatred. I just notcied that the viree twin on the left has that shaving razor in his right hand, the same one we see him hold on the teaser poster... His weapon of choice i supose, i think it is very cool but I wonder how much damage it could do against the gang though.

MovieManiac8 - From what i've heard, the Twins are bodyguards to the mysterious Keymaster guy. When Neo and the gang kidnap/rescue the Keymaster, the Twins have to go on a wild goose chase to get him back, cue the amazing chase scene and various kewl fights. Don't take my words as being completely accurate though.

Dude, the bullets are too slow. They can just dodge them now, so they have to use somethig as an extension of them, something fast enough to actually make contact.
