There is alot more younger schmoes then they use to be.

When I use to come here on a daily basis like 5-6 months ago and the discussions were going a bit further then the last slashers and some well-known classics. Is it just me or did the knowledgable members level have went down a bit. I know I'm a bit pretentious here, but I watch around the whole Joblo board and there is way more people exclusively discussing 90's 00's cinema along only with some big classics then they use to be.

Well, that was my little rant, hope it doesn't offend anyone or get closed.

I could say the exact same thing about the general boards. Seems that people are wayy more pre-occupied with the more contemporary stuff, which is all fine by me.. I just dont go there often at all.. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif

~~With horror, there's no way a board could exist if people are talking about the same series' over and over again (although there ARE a hell of alot of Halloween topics here.. *grumblegrumble*).

Because the genre is pretty darn specific, there are titles going back to the 20's which are still horror Staples!! Stuff that pretty much all of us HAVE seen, or absolutely HAVE to see.

My guess is that these boards have their slow periods and their Dammned fast periods, where the number of truly hardcore horror schmoes fluctuate.. Summer, it seems, is a slow period.

Another huge factor is, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one who's noticed this, is that we're all fairly close.

There was actually a topic a little while ago where'd you'd write your fellow schmoes' favorite movies!!

When we've all been here for a fairly long time together, especially when you're all pretty comfortable together, there's no need to post on the same topics over and over.

I've noticed the same thing since my return (I too used to come here daily several months ago). I think, on these boards anyway, it comes and goes in waves. Right now Youth Rules, with their love of modern slashers and discussing best vids to rent. I predict in awhile there'll be a wave of older posters discussing other subjects.

Also bear in mind, oldies like myself have full-time jobs and not as much free online time as younger folks do. So we can't always keep up with all the discussions.

A schmoe's age is irrelevant. Schmoes of all ages are guilty of posting duplicate (and usually worthless) topics. This sort of thing has happened ever since I've registered (a little over a year ago). When you first sign up, you don't think to take advantage of the search function and you're more inclined to post recycled information than the senior schmoes. Of course, things are irritating right now for a senior schmoe, but that is to be expected during the summer. The duplicates should ease up as the year progresses.

i registered last Dec. and never started posting till june because i lost the internet for a while so i dont even really remember what use to be on here...but i would rather see more "classic" horror topics on here rather then new horror....by classic i mean 70's-80's...i never really was into new horror but i always tried to give it a chance at least

i think bumping some old topics isnt a bad idea...cause the boards have been repeating themselves.
