With all the talk that's currently going on with Jason's supposed, and I quote, "gaying-down" for Freddy Vs Jason, I was wondering what everyone's opinion was when they first saw the revamped Freddy in Wes Craven's New Nightmare?
Personally I thought it was pretty sweet, until he started using cheesy catchphrases again, then I wished he just looked like good old Freddy again.

By the way, for those who don't know, the so-called "gaying-down" of Jason relates to the recently announced news that Kane Hodder won't be playing Jason in FvJ, and that they are looking for a new Jason with "sad, poetic eyes" that is to have a similar size to Freddy.

Well, it's been awhile since I first saw New Nightmare, but I recall being creeped out by his new attire. His trenchcoat is beyond badass. I think Freddy's "makeover" differs from Jason's upcoming metamorphosis, though. There wasn't a change in Freddy's stature or physique; he was simply wearing different clothing. I didn't mind Jason's "upgrade" in Jason X since he was still large and imposing, but modifying his frame to adapt to that of his opponent's? Uncalled for! Why couldn't they force Robert Englund to go on a strict grease diet to fatten him up a bit? It certainly wouldn't look awkward for Freddy to have thick thighs and biceps (note the extreme sarcasm).

No Kane Hodder?

Man this movie is gonna Suck.

I liked Freddy's upgrade. It looked more monster like, and like less of a human. Very scary.

WCNN was beyond boring, but the make-up was terrific!

I hadn't heard of this FvJ movie, but if they are getting rid of Kane Hodder, they should abandon it.
