I thought the announcer looked familiar in the boxing scene, until I sat through the credits and saw it was indeed The Brucester himself, Mr. Campbell. Made me chuckle. It just goes to show that directors will always use actors they can always rely on. Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell are old mates, and Sam always seems to find a way to use his old college buddy in anything he works on. (More power to him, I say...)

The thread is relevant because it's about Bruce Campbell who is a horror icon. Who thought he looked a bit tubby in Spider-Man?

Dude, I just saw him in Febuary, and he wasn't chubby at all. In fact, he looked to be in great shape.

I think that in certain photos, he appears to be a little chubby, but if you saw him in real life(like I have a couple weeks ago), you'd say that he is skinny. I don't know what's up with those magazine photos.

It's called "If Chins Could Kill" (I love that title) and apparently it's a great read with lots of photos of his career and home life.
Sadly, all the bookstores in Sydney stopped carrying it shortly after its release, so I've not got a copy. But you can order it from his website.

When I went to the Flashback Weekend, there was a new edition of "If Chins Could Kill", which featured more info, especially on the "Chins Across America" tour.

My little "If Chins Could Kill" story...
I was browsing through the movie section of Borders book store in Glasgow. I had been looking forward to If Chins Could Kill for sometime and when I saw that there were a couple of hardback copies on the shelf I had to buy one. I took it home only to find when I opened it to start reading that it was autographed by Bruce Campbell. When I phoned Borders in Glasgow to find out whether they had any left (they didn't) I discovered that it was part of a large batch imported from the US to the UK and it was just sheer luck that the one I purchased was signed. They didn't even know any of them were signed. I was well chuffed.
Oh...and btw...Bruce's gut was definitely showing signs of middle age spread in Spider-Man. Guy needs another Evil Dead movie to work that off... http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif

I saw Bruce Campbell this past weekend at the Fangoria Weekend Of Horrors and he is so cool and funny! He could do stand up. He said he would be in part 2 and that their would be an Evil Dead 4 eventually. I saw previews of his new movie Bubba Ho-Tep and it looks so damn funny, the previews he showed cracked me up they were great. He is a cool guy and actor! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/tongue.gif

C'mon, man! It wasn't a role, his name is not even mentioned, he says like three lines...It was a cameo! A cameo! And its a Sam Raimi flick and it was cool to have them both in a movie (Like Evil Dead) at least for a minute.

I just got the remastered DVD of Intruder, which stars Sam and Ted Raimi, and has a cameo appearence by Bruce, and among the extras are a couple of director Scott Spiegel's early short films.
One is called "Torra Torra Torra" and features Bruce in a number of comic roles (the whole film isonly about 10 minutes long, and is really amateur but lots of fun). It's basically about a lawnmower than runs wild, causing all sorts of hilarious slapstick, and also features Sam and Ted in roles.
The other early film is called "Attack of the Helping Hand" and features Sam Raimi as 'The Milkman'. Good stuff!
