I would suggest The Others score. It can be a little happy-ish in parts, but it's great. I can't think at the moment.

You should check out the unreleased HELLRAISER soundtrack from the band Coil. That's creepy stuff.

Carpenter, of course. No need to mention the "H" word, but his scores for PRINCE OF DARKNESS, CHRISTINE and THE FOG are awesome as well.

That brings us to Ennio Morricone's main theme for THE THING. Bass, how low can you go? Bad-ass.

Wendy Carlos. THE SHINING. Listen to it in the dark. Oh yeah.

The CREEPSHOW theme is another classic, oft forgotten horror theme.

Agreed. I've always loved Carpenter's music almost as much as his movies. The scores for "The Fog", "Halloween" and "Escape from New York" are pristine.

You could also check out my fave goth band, Sisters of Mercy. They did a couple of numbers for horror flicks when they were together; non-horror, their single "Marian" is creepy in the extreme.

And Nine Inch Nails' score for the Quake game is pretty cool, too.
