"Clownhouse" DVD?

Does anyone out there know if this classic 1988 horror flick is in any works for a DVD release? It's one of my all-time favorites and I would love to see it get the high-quality treatment. However, with the whole controversy behind the movie (Victor Salva molesting one of the child co-stars behind the scenes), I'm thinking that might be a dent in any plans. I hope that doesn't ruin it since it's such a great movie.

it probably will ruin its odds and chances,i agree 100% this needs a DVD/VHS re-release....the best horror movie in my opinion,without a doubt.a classic indeed.

It won't be hitting DVD anytime soon. If it does, it will be devoid of special features. Can you imagine Salva's commentary? "Yeah, Nathan was a superb actor. He was very open-minded on the set. He followed directions like a pro. He'd do anything I told him to do. Oh, he'd do anything. Those lips. The ass is just so...er, we made do with our small budget." I apologize for my poor taste.

Yeah I couldn't see anything extra being on this movie's disc other than a trailer.

Well, yeah, that WAS in poor taste, count. But anyway, lots of DVDs get released with just trailers and biographies. I don't see why they can't do that with this one. Just as long as it's been remastered, letterboxed and such.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of the film, I'd probably purchase it if it were to be released on DVD. It would have to have some extra goodies to convince me, though.

It's worth buying on VHS just to see it.

This flick is obviously very rare, I own it, taped it.
I was a little bit disapointed because everybody seems to like this - one.
There was a good potential but I thought it was spoilt.
6/10 not more.

I want to see this released on DVD too. I'd buy it. I haven't seen it for a few years since I first rented it. That video store went out of business and I didn't buy it. Then another one had it, and before I moved I thought I'd make an offer for the original VHS, or just make a copy, but I never did. And I don't want to buy the Amazon.com version, first because it has that generic cover art like all the Amazon exclusive videos, and two because I still think a DVD is possible and I don't want to re-buy.
