What kind of rules do video stores follow when it comes down to putting up hard to find or uncut horror movies?

Stores like Blockbuster are not allowed to put up unrated films, plus they never have films like (the impossible to find) Return of the Living Dead (before the new DVD) though they do have the sequals. I know ROTLD was out of print but i is against the stores policy to put it up...

Now, i have a video store near to me that has every single movie in the world, from the ring to Halloween 6: The Producers Cut to Dellamore Dellamte (or whatever it is called, the uncut Cemetary Man) to an uncut friday the 13th to even the uncut ROTLD, plus a trillion other uncut and hard to find horror flicks. The place is Wild an wooley video (www.wandwvideo.com).

When i went for an application there i asked the manager why some privatly owned video stores can put up movies like ROTLD but they arn't allowed to put up Halloween 6: Producers Cut, yet they can. He said that when they ring it up they just put it under the regular H6, same with the uncut friday and the trillions of other uncut movies and they had to apply for special rights for alot of other videos. Though if they are allowed to do that, why can't other stores?

I know that is a waste of money to put some up at mainstream video stores because chances are they wont make a cent from it yet they will spend alot to get it.

Though what proceduers do you think they have to go throgh to get the special rights for some of these films?

There are a lot of places that you can find the unrated versions of films and films not released in America for rent but most of them are mail order rental stores. These uncut versions were never copyrighted so people can do what they want with them for the most part. Now, with the money the studios have they could keep some small video company in court until they went bankrupt so the man at the store was probably trying to cover his ass by saying there were procedures.
