When a cruise ship crashes, some bad actors(except for the captain)find a Nazi ship in the middle of the ocean. They go in and what they dont know is that the ship is haunted by spirits of the nazis, and something has came over the captain...he starts killing his crew as he is possessed by the evil surrounding the ship. Its actually not that bad,but sometimes a little boring(only a little)and the actors ar,nt great, But one girl drowns in a shower of blood!
George kennedy is the captain.

This low-budget horror film is BAD...real bad! The only good thing is the effective music score!
1.5 out of 5

its not as bad as your making it.the only reason u all think it sucks is because it is considered horror which it shouldnt be cause it aint,it is a good thriller if you like old drive in type horrors.

Here it is. For those of you who are into old horror movies, I'm sure Anchor Bay will tackle this one sooner or later.

I rented this, and as it was beginning, I said to myself, this is going to suck. Just a little preparation there. The plot itself, on paper at least, actually seems kind of cool and unique, and made me think of the recent Virus. But right from the opening collision its so amatuerish and sloppily put together. As the shots of the cruise ship and the nazi ship change, its very clear that its night time at the cruise ship, and daylight at the nazi ship, right up to the second it hits. Then it goes straight to just 9 people on the raft, who somehow don't seem to get that the ship that hit them is the same one they go on. The first kill, dropping the guy into the water, was ok, but even before that, when they're trying to get on the ship, it just seemed so lame to me. Then there's not much that follows, some strange old musical movie they watch, bunch of Nazi stuff, shower of blood. Eh. Too many shots of the stuff moving on its own, the same stuff, shown the same way, over and over, showing the side of the ship, the bottom of the ship, cue same music. If I had to rate it a 3/10 might be a little generous.

Death Ship is an abysmal horror movie with little going for it other than unintentional laughter. There are zero scares accompanied by a non-existant atmosphere (unless a camera swinging around randomly qualifies) and whilst a handful of creepy frames give false hope the hundreds of shots of moving machinery prove that the director hasn't got a clue what he's doing! George Kennedy shows exactly what the word 'talent' means by acting his Captain uniform off (he seriously won an Oscar?!) and if Richard Crenna knew he'd be doing First Blood soon after he probably would've shouted "Man overboard!" and jumped off long before the end credits! Oh and once again the supporting characters are easily dispatched by supernatural forces where as the lead female merely gets thrown into a room with a very loose door (sigh). I see an escape on the horizon! Absolute garbage. Rent Ghost Ship instead, it's far more fun! In the UK the dvd is an 18 certificate!! What the fuck for?!!!

I liked this movie.
I think it was mostly because of the cast. George Kennedy and Richard Crenna rule.

Wow what was I smoking back in 2001 when I said it wasn't that bad.
Totally is.
Well I've said ti before but I really like the movie. It may just be for nostalgia, when I rented it a lot in 5th grade, but I don't think it's that bad. The bit where the old woman ate the (decades old) candy and turned into gangrenous corpse was pretty creepy.
The whole 'it's bloooooooood!!!' thing is fuckin hilarious though.

TEENKILLER -
I'm sorry to say that I've barely been busy, I just don't come on here much anymore. 2008 has been a FUCKING SHIT year for horror and I've really started to lose interest! The only movies in the last YEAR AND A HALF I've been excited about are the remake of FRIDAY THE 13th and MY BLOODY VALENTINE 3D and they're not out until early next year! There's also only been a handful of articles in the last half dozen copies of FANGORIA that I've bothered to read. All they plug these days is UBER-LOW budget horror and I FUCKING HATE UBER-LOW BUDGET!!!
The most fun I've had with a horror film over the last 6 MONTHS that I can remember?
PROM NIGHT...the remake. No shit.
Sorry about that rant. On the plus side I've been getting loads of tattoo work done that include a really shit JASON mask (bad artist), a decent MR GHOSTFACE mask (tidied up by a good artist), a decent MICHAEL MYERS mask (ditto), the original HALLOWEEN cover art and more.
Oh yeah, DEATH SHIP is shit. So bad it prompted me to make my first post in months.

No argument there, Horror has really been sucking lately, and watching most genre offerings has been about as fun as drinking embalming fluids. I swear, nearly every current/upcoming Horror film I just think "Oh god, now they're remaking this", or "That doesn't even sound good." As of now, the only Horror film I'm anticipating is Wolf Man.
Perhaps the jugular's finally been sucked dry, or I'm just being a sour-melon. :p

I was actually a little hasty in my response a few days back as afterwards I remembered a movie I saw only a couple of months ago which was fucking excellent! It was THE MIST. So I guess I should stop moaning 'cos if every year we get one movie as good as this, horror wouldn't be so bad at all. :)
