I think it would be a mistake to even show the children in Episode 3. They should show her pregnant and go into hiding. If the viewer never knows there is a boy AND girl then they will still wonder who "the other" is that Yoda mention in "Empire". Episode 3 doesn't even have to show her pregnant. He can turn evil and she can go into hiding at the end without anyone or at least Anikan knowing she is pregnant. "A New Hope" can just be many years later. This way they can preserve the surprises through all six.

That's assuming that the proper order to watch the full 6 movies is in the end going to be 1-6.

Personally I will always consider them 4-6, 1-3. That's why I am hoping that Lucas changes his mind about offering the orignals on DVD and that the SEs aren't too over the top added to.

I think that the correct order would be 1-6...otherwise they wouldn't be titled that way. But ok saying Padme goes into hiding...doesn't that kind of leave the gigantic plothole of why she's not around in 4-6?

Agree with you, about 1-6, i do... but leaving a pothole, i do not.
She could simply die sometime during the 20 years before Battle of Yavin...
