its tooo early to predict BUT this is LOW for an opening Day & Weekend of a blockbuster like the matrix ....

I agree that it is a little early to be making predictions for this movie, but it is going to be huge! Everybody loved The Matrix, so this movie is going to open enormously, however, I'm not sure if it will make more than $100 million in its first three days. I think this will open around Harry Potter level, not Spiderman level.
Opening Day- $35 mil
Weekend- $95 mil
Finish- $300-$400 mil

The only reason the first one was rated R, was because of sci-fi violence, a little language. I don't remember anybody hurling four letter words...

Only $60mil for the first weekend? I cannot imagine anyone who liked the first and kinda wants to see the second, not at least trying to see the biggest special effects movie ever opening day/weekend. I already know I'm seeing at least twice!

You guys have to keep in mind that almost every kid in America saw "The Matrix" despite its R rating. They will get their parents or someone else to take them, but believe me they will go.

Weekend - $85 million
Final - $300 million

I can see it breaking the opening record. "The Matrix" DVD is the #1 selling DVD right now. Everybody and their dog has "The Matrix", so the new films should be VERY VERY sucessful.
