Kane or The Tall Man

who do you think would win in a showdown, Kane from the Poltergeist series or The Tall Man from the Phantasm series?

That's tough, because each has a completely different modus operandi. It's not like pitting Jason against Michael; the Tall Man is physical, but Kane is more metaphysical - he almost exists on a psychological level.

But what the hey, I'll go with the Tall Man.

I wouldn't be so sure, Night Watchman. The Tall Man may have the killer spheres and the looming presence, but Kane has the supernatural stuff working on his side; he can easily possess the Tall Man unnoticed and beat him slowly.

I don't know if the Tall Man could be possessed, not being human and all. It's been a long time since I've seen "Poltergeist II." I can't really remember what Kane's abilities are. I just remember the one scene when he's standing outside, intoning in that creepy, Southern cracker accent, "Let .. me .. in." *shivers*

WOW! Never really thought about it before....who would win? MY bets guess would have to be the Tall Man. The man has all sorts of weird minions and shit and hes got those flying metalic balls that pretty much do all his dirty work, well those and the goblin creatures. If kane wanted to get to thhe Tall man hed for sure have to get through all those things. And besides Kanes siisy ass was killed off by that little annoying girl, so how could a demon of the underworld like that be able to take on someone with as much power as the Tall Man?

Kickass topic! I'm not sure what exactly would happen if Kane and The Tall Man decided to square off against one another. All I know is that Kane creeps me out more and that The Tall Man is slightly cooler.

At the risk of looking like I'm jumping on the bandwagon, my vote would always go to The Tall Man. Not much of a contest there, really. Kane got his butt whupped by a *little girl*, for chrissakes (albeit with some help from her family). I found The Tall Man much more creepy and frightening than any of Kane's antics.

On an aside, I was very sorry when I learned that Julian Beck (Kane) passed away during the filming of Poltergeist II. He and his wife started a theatre company that friends of mine have attended and said they enjoyed the performances greatly. I'd always hoped his company would do a run in London. He was a well-rounded, talented actor/director who sadly will probably only be remembered for playing the creepy ghost of a religious maniac.
