I was wondering what the horror fans of JoBlo thought was the best transfered sequel from one movie to another. Like (For EXAMPLE) Texas Chainsaw 1 to 2 or 2 to 3.
Which movies made the most sence without that in-depth explanation of what happened? Thoughts?

Best sequel transfer is definitely HALLOWEEN and HALLOWEEN II: set on the same night, the second film explains that Laurie is Michael's intended target, not a random victim!

Well, if I understand what you are asking, I think the "Elm Street" series from 1, 3-5 develop a pretty solid storyline. Also, I like the "Alien" series on a thematic level - the xenomorph represents fear, and Ripley's slow infection and transformation by the alien species represents the progression of fear in the human psyche.

I think the worst sequel I ever saw is CANDYMAN: FAREWELL TO THE FLESH, mainly because it follows up one of my favorite horror movies, and didn't even come close to the original. The acting was awful, and every time a black guy came on screen the music would jolt. It was so annoying. HELLRAISER: BLOODLINE was another theatrical disaster. Pinhead really needed to lay off the "I AM [fill in the blank]!" lines.

has anyone actually seen the halloween sequels? obviously 3 sucked, but as for the other ones frigging donald pleasence running around saying "HE MUST BE STOPPED, HE IS PURE EVIL!" got rather tiresome. hey he was great in the original, but then he just plain pissed me off. H20 saved the franchise because Michelle Williams and Josh Hartnett gave such awesome performances, not to forget Jamie Lee Curtis, hey what can you say. Bring on Halloween 8, and i heard that the guy killed in 7 was not Michael. So who knows!!
I think Aliens is a great sequel. Not as frightening as the original but an excellent action/horror/sci-fi film.I liked Child's Play 2 a lot.Wes Craven's New Nightmare was an amazingly inventive, original sequel.Quite Scary also.Halloween 2 was a decent follow up.Hellbound:Hellraiser 2 almost equalled the original.

I think the Transfer from "Friday the 13th" to par II is great. They should have ended the series after that.
I also dig the Transfer from "Exorcist I to .. III!" I didn't even like the first one that much but the third was a cool movie, taking the story of the original one step higher.
Why does everybody hate "Haloween 6" so much? It's a WHOLE lot better than the crapfest pt. 5 was and by the way - it would be freakin' boring to see Micheal like in the original for the 6th time! Think about it- no explanation why he doesn't die? No motive ? No background story ? Just evil on two legs ? For one movie - cool. For six ( well... five ) - boring!

LOVE BROKER -
Finally!Somebody shares my enthusiasm for;
1.HALLOWEEN H2O - I loved it!
2.The fact there is gonna be a HALLOWEEN 8.
3.Josh Hartnett and Michelle Williams. I love them anyway, but they WERE solid in H2O.
However i was sorry to hear that yet another hates HALLOWEEN 3. You said it 'obviously sucked'. Why? SERIOUSLY, Why? Is it because everybody was gutted cos Mike wasn't in it? Would it have been better if it was just called SEASON OF THE WITCH? Granted, i didn't like it first time, but now i love it. It still freaks me out with those robot dudes and the music. And the ending, CLASSIC!

okay halloween 3 wasn't what i expected, hey i expected it to just be like halloween 2 a continuation of the first one, maybe i am just to cynical. but i think it may have been a seperate movie and not part of the halloween franchise, that would have been easier to swallow for me. but up until h20 i thought that michael myers was dead for good. boy was i wrong!

Halloween 3 was godawful. Probably the most boring tedious movie i have ever seen. And it has so many plotholes Its not even funny, Like the thing with Stonehenge being used to make evil masks allthought how the company stole stonehenge, why stonehenge makes evil masks, How they knew Stonehenge would even make evil masks, and why they do it is never really made clear. Also what was up with the androids? And how did that one guy sleep with the one girl and not know she was a robot? Would robots even want to have sex? Would the company actually go to that level of detail to make them seem human? How did they recreate.. ::Head explodes::

The best are Hellbound and Evil Dead 2. These 2 movies were better than the original. The worst sequels were: Hellraiser V: boring, pinhead is only 2 min. in this movie. And Exorcist 2: It proves to be more worse and boring than the original! (sorry 4 my bad english)

I just watched "Friday the 13th Part 2" last night and I'm sorry to report that it's just a repeat of the original. I admit the very first scene was pretty cool, but the rest of it was nothing special. (however one must ponder the psychological implications of the climax, if you saw it you know what I mean, damn I'm positive they had "Psycho" in mind)

Halloween: H20 was definitely one of the worst sequels in the horror genre. It went far away from the original story. The version of Halloween 6 that was released was called Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers, but there was an alternate version of the film that was never released titled Halloween 666: The Origin of Michael Myers. It contained about forty extra minutes of previously shot footage that had never been seen and is today a near impossibility to find. My point is, that if you have seen this unreleased version, then you know what I am saying when I say that Halloween: H20 went away from the original story. The end of the original cut of Halloween 6 shows exactly what happened to Dr. Loomis. But due to the death of our favorite, Donald Pleasance, it was never seen and a whole new movie was filmed. I don't know why they removed more then a half an hour of footage of dialogue from Donald Pleasance. Because the deleted footage makes much more since to the series then what they did with it. I did love seeing Jamie Lee Curtis return for another, but they ruined what really happened and they should just give up with the Halloween movies and not even bother releasing Halloween 8: Homecoming. Later.
