THE KIDS OF HORROR

MOST VICIOUS CLIQUE: The younger versions of Nick, Wendy, Jude and Kelly in the opening sequence of PROM NIGHT. Playing a macabre version of hide-and-seek in a creepy abandoned convent, these pre-teens terrorize a young waif (who intruded on their extra-curricular activity) until she falls to her death from a second-story window.

DASTARDLY DUOS (SCARIEST SIBLINGS): The specters of the Grady girls in THE SHINING; possessed tykes Miles and Flora (Martin Stephens and Pamela Franklin in THE INNOCENTS); twin terrors Niles and Holland Perry (Chris and Martin Udvarnoky in THE OTHER).

SAVVIEST SURVIVORS: John Connor (Edward Furlong in TERMINATOR 2); Newt (Carrie Henn in ALIENS); Tommy Doyle and Lindsey Wallace (Brian Andrews and Kyle Richards in HALLOWEEN); "Reggie the Reckless" (Shavar Ross in FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 5); Chris Jamison (Harley Cross in THE BELIEVERS); Cathy Brenner (Veronica Cartwright in THE BIRDS); Matthew Ellis (Joshua Gibran Mayweather in CANDYMAN II); Casey (Nathan Forrest-Winters in CLOWNHOUSE); Joey Harper (Shawn Carson in THE FUNHOUSE); Tim and Lex (Joseph Mazzello and Arianna Richards in JURASSIC PARK); John and Pearl Harper (Billy Chapin and Sally Jane Bruce in THE NIGHT OF THE HUNTER)

HANDICAPPED HEROES: Marty Coslaw (Corey Haim in SILVER BULLET); Chuy (Alexander Goodwin in MIMIC).

TWISTED TEENS: Damien Thorn (Jonathan Scott-Taylor in DAMIEN: OMEN II); the title character in LISA (played by Staci Keanan); Todd Bowden (Brad Renfro in APT PUPIL); Rynn (Jodie Foster in THE LITTLE GIRL WHO LIVES DOWN THE LANE); Alice Spages (Paula Sheppard in ALICE, SWEET ALICE); Johnny McFarley (Marc Marut in THE PAPERBOY); Danielle Bowden (Juliette Lewis in CAPE FEAR).

SCARIEST TYKES: Gage Creed (Miko Hughes in PET SEMATARY); Danny Torrance (Danny Lloyd in THE SHINING); Damien Thorne (Martin Stephens in THE OMEN); Andy Malone (Reilly Murphy in BODY SNATCHERS); Marylee Williams (Tonya Crowe in DARK NIGHT OF THE SCARECROW); Seth Dove (Jeremy Cooper in THE REFLECTING SKIN).

"SOME OF BY BEST FRIENDS ARE...GHOSTS": Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment in THE SIXTH SENSE); Jake Witzky (Zachary David Cope in STIR OF ECHOES); Frankie Scarlatti (Lukas Haas in THE LADY IN WHITE).

MOST TRAUMATIC CHILDHOODS (and MOST IN NEED OF A SHRINK): Regan McNeil (Linda Blair in THE EXORCIST); Tommy Jarvis (Corey Feldman in FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 4); Jamie Lloyd (Danielle Harris in HALLOWEEN Parts 4 and 5); Carol Anne Freeling (the late Heather O'Rourke in the POLTERGEIST trilogy); Andy Barlcay (Alex Vincent in CHILD'S PLAY).

MOST LAMENTED VICTIMS: Claudia (Kirsten Dunst in INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE); Karen Spages (Brooke Shields in ALICE, SWEET ALICE); the ghost of little Joseph Carmichael in THE CHANGELING.

MOST TORTURED HERO: Lucas (Ben Keyworth in AFRAID OF THE DARK). In this British psychodrama, young Keyworth portrays a boy who is going blind AND is haunted by visions of a mad slasher who targets blind women.

BEST SOCIOPATHS (and MOST IN NEED OF AN ASS-WHIPPING): Rhoda Penmark (Patty McCormack in THE BAD SEED); "Master" Joey (William Dix in THE NANNY).

Woah, some good shit there! For MOST VICIOUS CLIQUE (if it was teens) i would go for the greasers in SOMETIMES THEY COME BACK - man they were cold! I know they didn't mean to actually kill Wayne, but damn?! Didn't they have anything better to do?!

SAVVIEST SURVIVORS - Good call on NATHAN FORREST WINTERS. BIG UP to that dude! I thought you were gonna forget Marty Coslaw (COREY HAIM in SILVER BULLET). Man, did i sympathise with that dude or what! I REALLY wanted him to live!

You sure knocked the TWISTED TEENS on the head - especially Damien Thorn, what a little bastard!

Oh, Andy Barclay, ha ha! What scared you about him? I was more concerned about Chucky!
Another good call on Jake Witzky (ZACHARY DAVID COPE in STIR OF ECHOES) He was cool - so much more likeable than that wanker i won't name!

MAD PROPS to REGGIE THE RECKLESS - YOU DA MAN!

P.S. For SCARIEST TYKES i would also include those little fuckers from BLOODY BIRTHDAY? They just didn't give a fuck! Talk about kill, kill, kill!

Nathan Forrest-Winters reaps the highest honors on this list, having survived the killer clowns in "Clownhouse" AND the sexual advances of the film's director Victor Salva. This kid had talent...too bad his career didn't survive the scandal.

Cesar, I've brought the topic back to the top of the list. You may re-post your list in this discussion.

Here it is my friend, I didn't see this topic before on this board but it's good to know is not unnoticed and your list is quite a handfull.

Children are a very unsettling element in horror movies, talk about the most vulnerable victims or the most surprising killers, also most killers seem to have a traumatic childhood experience that turned them into psichos, here are some that come to mind:
Danny "The Shining"
Gage "Pet sematery"
The kids playing at the beginning of "Prom night"
Those three little girls jumping the rope in most of the "Nightmare on Elm St" episodes
The albino alien kids in "Village of the damned"
Danny, Kara's son "Halloween: the curse of Michael Myers" (cute kid)
Jamie Lloyd, Halloween 4 & 5
One of my personal favorites, Carol Anne "Poltergeist"
The two ghost sisters in "The shining"
Chuy the autistic kid in "MIMIC"
Tommy Doyle from the original "Halloween"
And who can forget Michael Myers age 6?
Any others you can remember?
Hey Antonio I know I mentioned this topic before but it wasn't in this board, can you tell that I like talking about it.

TWO MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED, BUT DIDN'T

Shawn Carson who starred in three horror films from the early 80's: The Funhouse, Something Wicked This Way Comes and the TV movie Cry For The Strangers, based on the best-selling novel by John Saul. Carson, a natural child actor, appeared only in these three fright flicks.

Paula Sheppard, the title character in Alice, Sweet Alice. An excellent young actress, Sheppard was actually 19 when she portrayed a 12-year-old Alice! Sadly, the IMDB lists her death in 1994 of unknown causes (sounds fishy to me!). Her only other film role was in the movie Liquid Sky. Anyone see that one?

I watched Clownhouse on the televison two days ago and I was a little bit disapointed.
I had great expectations after Jeepers Creepers, of course this is a made for tv film, obviously because of the bad light and the lack of money.
6/10.
The vampire killers brothers in The Lost Boys.
Tommy Jarvis.
The boy in The Sixth Sense

I'm surprised no one mentioned the 1980 schlockfest "The Children", in which a nuclear spill causes kids to be radioactive zombies that hug and burn up their victims. Truly a classic time-warp cheesefest from a by-gone era.
