I am just wondering is anyone knows if Warner Brothers is planning on putting a Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets teaser trailer before Scooby Doo?? They are both Warner Brothers movies, aimed mainly at kids, so I think it would be a good idea...
Plus, a lot of new pictures have appeared on the internet so maybe they are from a new preview....?

I saw that picture of Dobby in last weeks issue of Entertainment Weekly, they did a special behind the scenes of THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS...

I wasn't that impressed with the Scooby Doo trailer, and probably would have waited for the DVD to rent, but if this is true, I will happily dish out the 9 bucks to see a nice teaser trailer on the big screen!
If you think about it, the DVD of "The Sorcerer's Stone" just came out, "The Chamber of Secrets" wraps up filming in July, what better time to bring out a preview than on a blockbuster Summer flick for kids.
Here's to hoping!
I'm not really all that interested in Potter, but could someone explain who that character is, and what his purpose is? Thanks.

Spoilers......but probably incorrect since its been a while since I read the books.
Dobby is a house elf. They are servents who work for wizard families, and at hogwarts doing chores and making meals and such. Dobby is the Malfoy's house elf. I don't really remember what his function is book by book, but he does play an important role as the books go on.

Yep, thats pretty much right... He warns Harry not to go to Hogwarts in his second year because bad stuff in going to happen. Thats why it says "Dobby Has Some To Warn You, Sir" (I think thats what it says)...
Here's to hoping he doesn't come off like Jar Jar...

Dammit, my computer wont let me download it either! Oh well, ill get it eventually. Anyways, those pictures look pretty damn good. I like he second book MUCH better than the first one (I thought the first book was OK; certainly not as good as everyone had hyped it up however) so I am hoping that Columbus does the same thing that he did with HP1, and make it very faithful to the book. One little thig however, is that I dont like the design of Dobby at all. I dont know what I would have preferred, but surely somethingmore visually interesting than that. I guess its just not what I had pictured. And here is too hoping that he doesnt turn into a little Jar-Jat, because anyone who has read the books nows that the potential is there.
Dobby looks so different from what I though! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/frown.gif I loved this book, hope the movie is as good!

Well I saw it and I'm very confused.... Ill get to that later..
Dobby is different than I imagined him. I think Chris Columbus is really trying to not have him come of like Jar-Jar. He seems to move slow and not jump around like a fool. In the book it said he has a very high pitched voice, in the preview it's almost normal, again, they're trying to distance him from Jar-Jar. Overall I think he looks alright....
What confuses me is the first two things we see. What were those snow covered mountains about? And who was sitting on them receiving the owl? When I first saw it I said Sirius Black but thats not until the third book, and he isn't even free until the fourth so I don't think it was him... It could've been Harry but probably not.... I'm so confused! Does anyone else have any thought about who that was? http://www.joblo.com/ubb/confused.gif

I just got back and I must say it is grrrrrrreat. I loved everything new I saw. The movie looks to be much draker and scarier. All the parts they showed are exactly as I imagined them... I loved where Harry had his head up to the wall listening the the basilik searching for blood. Aragog looks to be awesome. I'm glad they aren't going to CGI way and are using puppets. Of course, we didn't see much but I can tell you it wasn't CGI and that makes me happy. But my favorite part of the trailer has to be the duel between Harry and Malfoy. I loved that so much. And when Harry gets cursed the backflips were a nice touch. But after this trailer I asked myself, where's Hermione? She's not in it! The only thing we see of her is her petrified body on the hospital bed! Well, I thought the trailer kicked major ass!

Wasn't it Hermione who said "the teachers are right...McGonagall was right"?

Was it? If it was I missed it, but even if it was her, she still isn't in the trailer much!

Just interested. Does this film directly continue from where the first one left off? Is it necessary to see the first one before this? Kind of a stupid question, I know, but I didn't understand a word you said under the spoiler warning, so I thought I'd ask will I get anything from the trailer not having seen the first film.

You could watch this without having seen HP1, but I wouldnt reccomend it. It takes place around 2 months after HP1; Harry s getting ready to go back to Hogwarts.
