While no film of the Scream trilogy has really played for scares, I would say the "freakiest" of the franchise is Scream 3. It is by far the most serious of the trilogy, doesn't try as hard for laugh-out-loud jokes, and has some nice homages to other franchises. I recently showed the trilogy to a few friends on DVD, friends who had never see the Scream films, and they asked me to stop four times during Scream 3 because it was too "freaky" (especially Sidney's dream with Maureen Prescott outside of her window), and this was after showing them Friday the 13th, Parts 2 thru 4. Then again, that's not saying much....they begged me to stop several times there, too. But I suspect that was more out of boredome.

Even though none of them really freaked me out my vote is probably for the first one. The opening scene was the best out of the trilogy and Billy did a good job being all creepy in the end. As far as part 3 goes, it was utter crap...what a bad way to end what could have been an awesome trilogy.

Hey Lou Lou I Totaly agree wit the fact that Scream 3 was a total mishap It could have been a totally awsome Trillogy but they totally FUCKED it up!!!! as far as Scream 1 I agree Billy Lumas was a Legend of the scream killers but i still feel strongly that Scream 2 ROCKS!!! Its soo much more interesting and alot more gory & exciting! As Randy would say
'its Carnage Candy' But Scream 3 was utterly twisted! In 1 & 2 they should hav droped hints that she has a brother instead of introducing him in the final trillogy!!!
Mrs Lumas and Micky were exilent killers coz atleast they menstiond Mrs Lumas in Scream1!!!!!!!!!

well my pick is scream 1 it is the best of the series. i didnt much care for the sequels. i liked scream 2 cause it had the hot sarah michelle gellar in it but they killed her off after being in it for 2 min. that was not nice :-(

The scariest movie is the first. It was horrifing. I have the hole trilogy. And I just re-watched it. Scream 1 is by far the scariest. Then Scream 3, the Scream 2 (the mistake).

Scream 1 is the scariest as lots of jumps in the first 10 minutes ! Scream 2, good comedy, entertaining but not scary ! Scream 3 freaky Maureen Prescott outside in sydneys dream FREAKY !!!!! But the ending TERRIBLE however, I liked the solo killer more believable ! Coz ive asked my friends and none of them are interested in mass murder but thats beyond the point. Scariest Scream gotta be the original

Scream 1 and 2 were both kinda scary but Scream 3 there was hardly any blood.

I'd say Scream. the original, but its not really that scary, the movie is medicore at best, but its a shitload better then its sequels. shit at its worst.

the original "Scream" was by far the scariest. "Scream 2" also had its moments, but it was more suspenseful than scary. "Scream 3" was very poor because it didn't rise one tiny scare at all, not even a jump for me. By the time the third came out, we'd seen it all before and knew what was coming, plus "Scary Movie" had taken the piss out of the series which made it a tad bit dull. I don't believe anyone who says "Scream 3" is the scariests, sorry no way. "Scream" is a classic and is by far the best.

None of these movies was scary but I suppose the one with the most suspense was the first. It was still fresh at that point. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.

The first ten minutes of scream were excellent. Not so much scary, but tense, and it seemed so real, it rocked

the first scream in my opinion, had some pretty intense scenes.

SCREAM and SCREAM 3 are neck-in-neck, but I'll give the benefit to SCREAM. Only by a little though, the final third movie was pretty scary.
