Bridget Jones struck up a lot of controversy with my friends, but what is your opinion on this film. Is it a girly 'chick flick' or a sparkling comedy with excellent characters?

I would probably sway towards the latter, but I would like to find out who disagrees with me?

My Rating - 7/10

I really couldn't stand this movie!
I've said it before and i will say it again, i really do believe that this is a piece of film that shows British comedy at it's worst!

A huge failure in my eyes, un fortunatley, the majority adored it, fair enough, but the only thing i enjoyed about the movie was the fight scene.
That was it.
1/10 - 1 point for the fight scene.

Not bad. Could have been a lot worse. I think I got my $$$$ worth.

I liked "Bridget Jones" very much and should get several Golden Globe nods. Considering it only cost in the mid $20s and so far has made close to $45 is a money success and with the audience very very very successful.
But hey im only a 15 male so what do i know about chick flicks.

I thought it was a success because I like everybody that's in it!

Its pretty good- but the book is 10 times better. They should have cast a Brit in the lead, too- apparently Rachel Weiss was considered....but then they decided she was too pretty!
