i think that the best movies in the series have to be 1,2,6 and h20 it just that parts 5 and 6 felt like they could've been direct to video movies the others had a distinct cinematic feel to them were as 5 and 6 felt to b movie'ish i aggree with arrow that the halloween series has always tried to do something new with the movies wether it failed or not where as friday the 13th just had the same fuckin formula but thats not to say that friday the 13th films suck cause they don't. yes resurrection looks like a teen movie but still it's doing something new i welcome the idea of the shape cleaning out his house then doing the same thing going after his family i mean like loomis said the house is his sacred place so i feel its not such a bad plotline. but thats just my thoughts.

Well I don't really like this serie maybe because it looks too rich for me.
I mean the characters, I prefer the darkness of a wood à la Friday The 13th.
My favorite sequel is by far and I mean it Halloween 4 which was awsome !!!
The screen - players are weak for this serie, sorry but I really think that.
H20 was really disapointing, only one good scene : the dumbwaiter - scene which reminds me Argento.

Halloween 1 (and to a lesser degree Halloween 2) are the only worthy Michael Myers entry's, all the rest are just Friday the 13th retreads and rehashes with so called 'storylines' http://www.joblo.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif . I personnaly didn't like 2 as much, simply because it relied more on gore than it should have . The ONE TRUE AND ONLY Halloween, needed no gore to be frightening as hell, and become a box office bonanza.
Halloween III is prob one of the most original horror films ever written, and is actually the way the CREATOR: JOHN CARPENTER wanted the series to go, as many have pointed out.
Can ya tell I am way up to FRIGGIN HERE with all the Halloween CRAP ?

The only movies in the series that I truly like are Halloween, Halloween 2 and Halloween 4. After that the story became redundant.
Even though H20 tried to change the series I still didn't like it very much. Yeah, the movie was somewhat enjoyable but now with the assinine explanation for Michael being alive in Halloween 8, H20 is a completely pointless movie. Just as H20 made 4, 5 and 6 pointless by completely disregarding them. If the studios just had to make a Halloween 8 it should have been Michael killing Laurie and going after John. Not going after some stupid kids who are in his house. I'm sorry but I think that is the lamest excuse for a sequel.
Think about it. In every other Halloween movie Michael is going after relatives, people who share his bloodline. Why, after all this time would he just decide to go kill people who are in his house. Doesn't realize he's famous and people have probably been in and out of his house every day? It just doesn't fit the series. I hate to see what has become of my favorite horror movie, Halloween. But, there's obviously some people who still want to see Michael slashing away at people, regardless of the story. I have no problem with that, but they won't be getting my money.
That's just my opinion. I could be wrong...
To go with my rant, here's my ratings for the entire Halloween series:
Halloween - 10/10
Halloween 2 - 8/10
Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers - 8/10
Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers - 6/10
Halloween 6: The Curse of Michael Myers - 5/10
Halloween: H20 - 6/10
Halloween: Resurrection - ???

The Halloweens are my favorite horror series. I mean they got the best horror killer, SCARIEST horror killer for the matter. Also they have a good storyline. My favs are 1,2,4,6 and H20. I really don't like 5 that much. I think it was too rushed or something.

Yes, Halloween films ar he geatest. I LOVE them all! (yes, even 5). I think Halloween 6 would have been AWESOME if they didnt have the thorn crap.
Halloween H20 is one of my favorites. Maybe because I love Jamie Lee Curtis but I liked it.
I DONT THINK THAT HALLOWEEN FILMS ARE F13 CLONES! (dont try and convince me otherwise, its already been tried)
