The original Haunting is damned creepy as well.

House on Haunted Hill remake and Thirteen Ghosts remake has some good elements to them, but you have to suffer through some rather weak script work though.

Best ghost story of all time....CANDYMAN!

The best one i've seen of late is The Devil's Backbone. It's from Guillermo Del Toro who also did Cronos, Mimic and Blade 2. It's an exceptional piece of work. Well worth tracking down.

The ENTITY is the greatest because it is a true story about a woman who gets raped by this ghost! i give it a 10/10.
