His performance as the disillusioned priest in PRINCE OF DARKNESS is very underrated. Watch it again and tell me you don't feel for the man...an existentialist crisis can bring you down, I guess, especially if you're a priest....

I thought Pleasence was excellent in The Flesh And The Fiends. Peter Cushing was the main star but it was Pleasence role that truly made the movie a classic.

I haven't seen many of his roles but I loved him in Prince of Darkness and Alone in the Dark.

4. It's not quite horror, but one of the best things I've ever seen Pleasence do was an old b&w Twilight Zone episode. He played an ageing English teacher at a boys' school who's being forced into retirement. Teaching was his life, and he loved his students, so he decides to kill himself. He's talked out of it by the ghosts of his students who've since died.

Has any one seen him in an early Roman Polanski film called Cul-de-sac? Pleasence plays an eccentric recluse who lives on a remote island, with his nymphomaniac wife, whose live's are disrupted when two escaped criminals land up on the island. I have'nt seen the film but I've heard that Donald Pleasence gives a great preformance in this film. Has anybody seen it?

He was good in Prince of Darkness, but his character was pretty much like Dr. Loomis'. Didn't they even have the same name?
