Is it just me or dose it seem that people who like horror films are split into two distinct groups those who like the so called teenie bopper horror movies (scream series, blair witch) and those who like the old classics (NOTLD,NOES,halloween) dose any one like me like both of types of movies?

I LOVE alot of the Teeny Bopper stuff as well as the older stuff.
~~Personally I dont see why all of the new slashers get such a bad rap around here.

I like both kinds. Some of the new stuff can be better than some of the old stuff at times, and some of the old stuff can be better than the new stuff at times. Look at it this way, it is like the old movies are reproducing and making new ones. When the youth of the world today gets older, their kids are going to think that all the new movies to us are the old classics, the way that we look at movies from our parents time as the classics. Think about it!

Blair Witch is not a 'teeny-bopper' movie, as a matter of fact at both showings I saw , the 'teeny-boppers' were walking out saying stuff like ' where are the cool kills' and crap like that. I actually had to silence ,rather forcfully, a group of them behind me to shut the fuck up or I'd be waiting for them in the parking lot http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif They shut up.

But , as to the topic, I could care less what the genere is, if it's a good film,, it's a good film....I personnally don't find alot of the last decades teen films very good however( with the exception of Final Destination and Ginger Snaps).

I like all of them. I have even been known to watch a really bad horror movie and then re-write a short story on the concept and come out better than the people who did the movie. I like all the stuff. I even like the old stuff like Sisters and Alice Sweet Alice, Night of The Living Dead, The Haunting and most of the new stuff.

I can watch any crap you put in front of me, as long as im entertained by it, i'll say its a good movie, but im easily entertained. so it doesnt matter what year it was made it matters if i enjoyed it.

Scream was the only "teenie bopper" movie that I liked. and also the sequals to the classics.

i hate new ones cause they have a bunch of people that dont know how to act in a horror movie that should stick to thier show on WB. the story is the same thing in all of them, then they do a sequal to remake a remake. just not my thing.

I like to watch a lot of cheesy slashers from the 80s.

80s Slashers are my choice, but I still like some of the "mainstream" horror. I mean, if yuo can get past the plotholes, and the predictable "mysteries" as to the killers identity, some of em are good entertainment for an hour and a half.

Also, even though it brought horror back into the mainstream, I don't think Scream should get compared to the countless clones it inspired (Valentine, IKWYDLS, Urban Legends, etc.). Scream was a damn good horror movie, and it had a pretty decent mean streak (poor steve). And I think it also appeals to more "hardcore" horror movie fans because of the many references to older movies. But that's just my opinion.

Claw said it well, I'll watch anything. As long as it looks like it will at least be funny.

I watched Urban Legends because Danielle Harris was in it. It had a pretty good idea behind it but it would have been really cool if it was made in the 80's and not in the Scream era. If it was made in the 80's it would have had more gore and pointless nudity and it would have been much more fun.

I prefer the more older stuff (hope that doesn't make me sound like an old man!) but I don't mind the Teeny Bopper stuff either... guess I fit into both categories.

I don't really like anything from recent times but I won't hold anything against people who do. Opinions are opinions and different ones are what makes this board so interesting. Well thats all for now GOoD JOURNEY my fellow schmoes.
