Amityville is just a freaky sounding name. I've seen the house a few times, it's pretty scary looking. Wasn't the whole thing bullshit tho?

Yeah, the whole thing was a hoax. The family finally admitted it at some point, but not till it became a legend.

My pick: Sleepy Hollow. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/cool.gif

1. ANTONIO BAY, CALIFORNIA in THE FOG
2. HADDONFIELD, ILLINOIS in HALLOWEEN
3. BODEGA BAY, CALIFORNIA in THE BIRDS
4. SANTA CARLA, CALIFORNIA in THE LOST BOYS
5. SANTA MIRA, CALIFORNIA in INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS (1956)

What is it with me and coastal towns? I love the ocean, though.

while its not a horror movie, the town in John Waters' Desperate Living called Mortville deserves a mention IMO.

Without question, my favorite is Perfection from TREMORS. In fact, when I first a sneak preview of it, the theatre was giving away "Welcome to the town of Perfection, Population 9..8...7" door mats with a bite taken out of them as door prizes. It is my life's ambition to get my hands on one of them damn things before I die.
