Who is the more skilled director? Who has a better list horror/thriller films?

M. Night Shyamalan:
the Sixth Sense- Willis
Unbreakable- Willis
Signs- Gibson

David Fincher:
Alien 3- Weaver
Seven- Freeman
the Game- Douglas
Fight Club- Norton
Panic Room- Foster

I submit a vote for Fincher, a little more creative imo. Don't get me wrong Shyamalan's work is very neat, artsy, and stylish, but his last 2 films were sort of predictable imo, as you were kind of expecting a really suspenseful ending. Fincher's films are all different and complex in that regard.

Fincher all the way. Give me Fight club over the crappy 6th Sense any day. Signs was great though, the most tense experience I've had on the big screen since the opening scene of Scream.

Hooray for me.

So, far I prefer Fincher. His work is more original, and makes a more lasting impact. Sixth Sense was good, but didn't deserve all that hype. I mean how can you even begin to compare it to Fight Club?

This one is REALLY hard! But with Signs just coming out and blowing me away i have to go with M. Night <Note: i haven't seen Panic Room yet>. These 2 are among my favorites directors.

I haven't seen signs yet, which seems to be kicking ass all over the place, so I probably should wait before I see anything...

but for now Fincher is better.. I'm not a big fan of any of shyamalan's movies at all..

Im my opinion, its like comparing Alien and Aliens.

they are two completely different things.

while fincher has badass fight club and unforgettale seven under his belt, shyamalan has classics unbreakable, signs and the 6th sense.

they are both equally cool.

M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN
1. SIGNS (2002) A
2. THE SIXTH SENSE (1999) A
3. UNBREAKABLE (2000) B+

DAVID FINCHER
1. SEVEN (1995) A
2. PANIC ROOM (2002) B+
3. ALIEN 3 (1992) B
4. THE GAME (1997) B
5. FIGHT CLUB (1999) B

Although I've seen more of Fincher's films, I prefer M. Night's visionary pics.

Fincher by a looong shot. Signs is the only movie I even sort of like by M. Night Shyamalan. While fincher constantly reminds me he is a genius.

They're both great. You can't compare them. Maybe Shyamalan has consistantly made better movies, since Panic Room, and Alien 3 weren't GREAT pictures, but I like them just how they are.

Night should go to bed, and leave Fincher to kick ass in horrors.
Shayamalan is over-rated, but Fincher is a visonary. I kinda think SIXTH SENSE is too revered for a sub-par film.
Fincher did good work on ALIEN 3, despite its shortcomings, and Seven is a moody work that makes Brad Pitt a decent actor.
