i loved it ..but them i am a female...so i understand...the two
types of male love in this picture....the first...raw..wild...
erratic....the second....stable....protective....worshipping...

thought the paradox of these struggles in the hetrosexual
relationship....the contrast...freedom....responsible...well
what can i say....i can dig it! liked all the adults actors and
actresses...this time period...as i was a child...at this time..
and yes...cigarettes...drinking....was a cool thing to do for
the adult...in the new suburban landscapes of the 50's..
where one big thing..was getting a bar in the basement..
drinking bar...now everyone has workout bars...so the whole
thing ticked of the metaphors of this era....and for me...also..
that's how it is....love the chemistry...of penn and penn...but as
penn and travolta...our in my age group..and believe me...the
wine gets sweeter.....i can see that for
the younger folk...it could appear...of no interested.....the
emotionality of the drinking..scenes..was excellently portrayed.

let us not forget this is...post war...where...the woman...is
protected....adored...etc....because 10 years early...was the
2nd world war....and all 16 year old male....unless they had
a really good excuse....were given guns and sent to fight....
even if...the emotionality of the particular man...was not that
type....the alternative in many cases was prison..be a man..
blah blah blah....it is a story to be told...and remembered...
the liquor companies...and cigarette industries...at that time..
i don't know....had investments...in the movie industry...and
sold their products...thru this medium....
