This was a most unusual film indeed...the cast of characters were an eclectic assortment, and the actors tried hard to bring them to life. But the end result was just another confused, unnecessary, and overly complex dramedy.

To make a movie based on real life you just have to have the flair to grasp facts and the empathy to devour intangible elements of the human mind. i.e. emotions. To make a movie that feels like a dream, one like MDH, you need all of the above plus the desire to invention, to create and to take flight. A route less traveled is what makes BDH unique and beautiful (not to mention its lyrical textuality and stunning visuals), so much so that it is sinful to watch. This is one man?s dream, cosmically composed by a team of moviemakers, so let it be and digest the idiosyncratic intimacy.

This movie was absolutely Horrible, and for me to say that , that's saying a lot, I always say that I'll watch any movie at least once, but well folks guess what, I turned it off after twenty Minutes, took it back to the store and got my money back, my parents also did the same thing,a day later. I hated it. Apparently I'm not the only one.
how would I rate it..

I think this movie is very good indeed!
It is very unusual, yet it reflects many social problems; such as the intolerance of being different from the mojority of the population.
Also the movie expresses many ideas that city people are afraid to express. Even though these ideas might sound naive, but they are the solutions to unknot the complexity that this society has gotten itself into.

Afterall, i recommend this movie and hope everyone can have a little patience to finish the whole movie... it does start off a little bit slow. Good movie nonetheless.

To really like "The Million Dollar Hotel" you have to like the freak-nut residents of the Million Dollar Hotel. Do I like any of them? Not really. Jeremy Davies as an actor always gets on my nerves and in this flick he's the main star. Actually he' not too bad as his crazy looks kind of match his half-retarded behavior in this flick. Ditto for Mel Gibson, not too-bad, had a couple good one-liners, but he had an arm growing out of his back??? weird, weird. The other main character Milla Jovovich so-so, but what was her mental health problem anyway? Peter Storamare as "the walrus" so nuts thinks he a member of Beatles band just plain talked too much babble. The others weren't on screen long enough for any comment. Whole film took place inside a rundown 1940's hotel. The mystery of who pushed Izzy off the hotel roof at end no real surprise. Grade: 6/10 C+

Million Dollar Hotel is one hell of an odd little film, the characters were all pretty strange and although in the end i didnt really care about any of them i also didnt end up disliking them. at times the script was pretty clever and funny but there could have been a lot more laughs thrown in. the plot was alright but at times my interest dwindled and i nearly turned it off. in the end though it was a strange film that was well shot and for most of the running time very enjoyable
