Mister Frank Darabont, about some aspects of INDY 4:
Villains? "No nazis this time. [...] But we're going to give you some good villains, let me just put it that way."
Working with Spielberg and Lucas? "It winds up being a pretty good collaboration, a good exchange of ideas. But at the end of the day, I'll be writing what they ask me to. I'll be giving them the story that they want, so in that sense, I'm an employee. But a very excited and engaged employee. And what a fun project to work on."
Will Indy have a son and other rumors? "If I told you, they'd kill me. I wouldn't leave here alive. I'm sworn to secrecy."
And yes, I am now officially more excited than ever -- the script is on its way!
PS: George Lucas has also told a Swedish magazine that he has started working with Darabont and will be actively involved in the process of writing the script, maybe even more than Spielberg will be. Basically, the script will be written like that of RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK: 1°) Lucas brings the story, 2°) Lucas, Spielberg and Darabont exchange ideas, 3°) Darabont takes care of writing the whole thing together.

I never though I'd say this, but...I'm gonna miss the nazis. http://www.joblo.com/ubb/wink.gif I'll miss Indy kicking their asses, that is...
Frank Darabont is a kickass writer and I cannot wait for Indy IV!

Adventure, thrills, chills, romance, comedy, whips, bad chicks, snakes, revolvers, the fedora, nazi's... oh wait. No nazi's http://www.joblo.com/ubb/frown.gif I shall miss their asses gettin kicked by Indy as well. But I can't wait!!!!!!!!
I'm still not excited. Nervous is a more suitable word, I LOVE Last Crusade and thought it was the perfect way to close the story. Even after reading all that has been said on the project recently I'm still not sure the world needs another Indiana Jones film. I hope to God it works. I will be there opening day to find out.
On Darabont's comments:
Lucas' involvement; Oh dear, he's not got a good record recently, but at least someone else is doing the writing.
A son for Indy; NOOOOOOOOOO. This would be the worst thing that could happen to this series. The great strength of the Indy films has been the way they have been unsentimental. Unfortunately Spielberg directing children spells OVERsentimentality. I really hope they do not go down this road.

Who says that his son has to be a child... Harrison Ford is now in his late 60s early 70s, which means that indy wont be far from that age, which means that his son can be atleast 20 years old.. c'mon, think before you act!!!

I gotta give props to Logan, the biggest Indy fan that brings all the news, good job dude!
I have no fear with the production of this film, common guys, these are the best storytellers of our time, they wouldn't ruin the series! True i will miss Indy kicking nazi ass, but in this time in Indy's life, WW2 is dying and the cold war is begining. I agree that The Last Crusade was a perfect way to end the series, but Speilberg is a pro, he'll give Indy a grand movie!

AND as I'm here, lemme let you on the latest statements by Harrison Ford on Chicagoan TV, the Calgary Sun, and the Washington Post this week-end:
Will there be another Indy movie after n°4? "Well, never say never".
Your enthousiasm about the project? "It still amazes me that we've strung Indiana Jones out this long. I've agreed to do Indy 4 on the condition we get a really good script. If and when that happens, I'll get excited about reviving the character."
Indy's age? "Indiana Jones has never been defined by his age. Personally, I don't think about aging. I think about how I feel on any given day, but, for me, that's not a question of age or aging." [...] ""I'm only too old if Indy is too young. There is a movie about the young Abraham Lincoln, there is a movie about the older Abraham Lincoln. Why can't there be a movie about the older Indiana Jones?" [...] "Well, what's too old any more when you have Jack Palance doing one-armed push-ups? Anybody want to ask Regis Philbin if he's too old? I wouldn't. It's all a reflection of life." [...] "What astonishes me, is that people can't imagine Indiana Jones aging at all. Why expect any character to be frozen in time? The appeal [of Indiana Jones] isn't his youth but his imagination, his resourcefulness ... His physicality is a big part of it, especially in the way he gets out of tight situations. But it's not all hitting people and falling from high places. My ambition in action [movies] is to have the audience look straight in the face of a character and not at the back of a capable stuntman's head. I hope to continue to do that, no matter how old I get."
The action scenes? "I still feel capable of jumping and falling down. That is not the issue."
What will change for Indy this time over? "In those cases when you play a character more than once, you have an obligation to bring something different to the audience. I always feel the character has to learn something. We have done that successfully in the past, through devices like the introduction of his father."
The structure of the movie? "In the case of Indiana Jones, there's a looser structure and concept. They're more about the movies than they are about anything else, like a mythology. They're about the conventions of the movies, and they're fun because we all sort of know the shape that they're going to come in. But at this point, it's not anything that anybody's thinking about...We're just trying to come up with the most imaginative circumstances to put him in. I don't think there'll be much limiting of the action because of the reality of my age -- we're not talking about reality with these movies, after all. But you know, there are lots of 60-year-old cowboys breaking horses and falling on their asses and rodeoing. So the potential, the possibility to give physical expression to these moments is still there."
There you go folks! http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif
And really, people...there's two things that I thought about reading this:
1°) It's a possibility Indy will have a daughter or son in this one now. I mean, see this quote: "I always feel the character has to learn something. We have done that successfully in the past, through devices like the introduction of his father." So maybe this time they'll introduce his children?
2°) I say if Ford is so confident about being able to do the action stuff as he used to, then he will. I trust him. I trust Spielberg. They'll do a fine job.

News is all around with this movie (mostley just another ford interview that states he is still attached) but here is some interesting news...
Harrison Ford told Cindy Pearlman that 'Indy 4' will not feature him training his screen son to take over the franchise. According to Ford, "Hey, there's only one son in these moies and I'll always be Sean Connery's little boy."
Yes!!!!!
Not that i had any doubts about Indy having a son but now i feel a little bit safer....
I thought Logon was right when he said he would have a son or daughter but i guess he will have to learn from somthing else this time.
