This movie pretty much sucked. It just didn't do anything for me. I can say that this is the first time I have ever nodded off in an "action" movie. COLLATERAL DAMAGE is the first Swarzenegger movie I didn't like (I was more entertained by LAST ACTION HERO!) I enjoyed END OF DAYS and 6TH DAY much more than this flick, as well. Look on the bright side, Arnie is about to begin filming on T3 so that has to be good . . . right?

This movie was definitely better than End Of Days and The Sixth Day. It had a good pace, and something I wasn't expecting: A good plot. True Lies is one of my favorite movies of all time, but even in that movie I knew it was basically going to be Arnold blowing away terrorists and eventually killing the Sandspider in the end. Some of you may think I'm stupid, but I honestly never saw the conclusion coming. It pretty much blew my expectations away, although I knew he would keep the Wolf's kid in the end. I fully agree with JoBlo in that this movie had a solid final 20 minutes. But you got to give Ah-nuld a little credit in that this is one of very few movies in which he didn't use guns! Also, I liked most of the supporting characters, especially John Turturro and John Leguizamo, although it pissed me off that Leguizamo was killed off fairly shortly after being introduced into the movie. I heard a lot of complaints about this movie by many critics on the net, and so they'd probably think I'm crazy if I said that this ranks up right alongside True Lies and T1/T2 as one of my favorite Ah-nuld movies. Two thumbs up, 8/10. Loved it. Bring on T3, dammit!

This movie kicked ass. One of the best Arnold movies that i have seen in a while. The explosions were really well set up and most of them looked real and it was cool how the wolf put them together. The action, most of it in columbia, was different from a normal Arnold movie. He usually has a gun and kills 30 or 40 people but he didn't touch a gun and only killed about 6 people. He also always fights alot of people and never loses in his other movies but in this one he got beat up by a girl and got taken prisoner after getting his ass kicked. THe water scene was the only scene that looked fake,it looked like there wasn't a lot of money for that scene.

The acting from Arnold wasn't first rate but it wasn't bad. The bad guy(the wolf) was a cool character as was the CIA guy(Elias Koteas). John Leguizamo was really funny in his small role and John Turturro was even funnier in his even smaller role.

The directing was really good to. He brought good movies like the fugitive and Above The Law. He is good at staging gun fights and explosions. His style hasn't gone since his movies in the 80's. As for the script- these kind of movies usually don't have a very good one. But in this case it wasn't half bad. Arnold wasn't saying stupid one liners like " make a clon and go fuck yourself"(sixth day) and he said alot more lines then pulling a trigger or beating someone up.The parts in the CIA building had the smartest lines in the movie. Although some of the aspects of the movie make a regular Arnold movie. Like the violance created by the bad guy(the wolf).

Besides the few plot holes and fake CGI the movie still is one of the best Schwarzenegger movies that have come out in a while. And even though some people say it should't have been released because of Sept 11, i think it came out at just the right time to give some people entertainment rather then being depressed about it.

I give it 8\10

Collateral Damage 7/10...

Collateral Damage is a ripping good yarn with Arnold in fine form. This is the stuff he does best and who else is better?! Arnold is simply out for revenge after a terrorist bomb kills his wife and kid....and that sends us and arnold deep into the war-torn country of Columbia full of its corruption death and despair. The jungle and Columbian scenes are expertly done and in fact the whole film is very well made. There are a few other good supporting roles to help ditract from Arnold's accent but that is his trademark now.delivering great one-liners as usual. This film had a good plot with some nice twists and turns at the end which are somewhat predicatble but they pay off with a pretty thrilling climax. The stuff with the bike, gas and subsequent fight were all great. Overal this is a kick ass good time with Arnold in fine form and if you are an action fan and an Arnie fan, like me dont miss it.

How do you spell fun? A - H - N - U - L - D! (I know that was dumb but it's the truth) Arnold has been in some steaming helpings of horse dung lately (i.e. End of Days, The Sixth Day, Batman & Robin) but this is different. The story is about a fireman that loses his wife and kid in a terrorist bombing. He decides to travel to Columbia to try and find and kill the man that caused it. "Collateral Damage" was originally scheduled for release in September but was pulled because of the 9/11 attacks. The similarities between the movie and what happened that day are striking. It's to bad we don't have some kind of a super hardcore bad ass to go over to Afghanistan and kick some serious Bin Laden butt. But we don't. Or do we? Hell, let's get a plane and fill it with Arnold, Vin Diesel, The Rock, Scott Stapp (Creed), Freddie Prinz Jr, and Jennifer Lopez. Let's ship them over to the middle east and see what happens. Scott, Freddie, and Jennifer can be used as human shields because that's all there good for. NO TALENT HACKS! (Take a breath Erik) Everybody knows you don't walk into a Schwarzenegger film expecting a contender for best film. What you DO go in expecting is an action filled to rim good time. "Collateral Damage" delivers! The movie had some great twists that I wasn't expecting. The acting was....sure, I'll say it...good! Sure, the film had some cheese to it but who cares! Arnold throws axes and spits out one liners! It's been awhile since a good old fashioned ass kicking movie came out. All of a sudden all these friggin' war movies are coming trying to earn that patriotic dollar. I for one didn't realize how much I missed "Ah-nuld" until he came out in the nick of time to save us from movies trying to be "deep" ,a blizzard of war movies and not to mention a shit load of teen films that come and go each month. Welcome back Arnie. I hope you become more choosy with your scripts from now on. I also hope T3 surprises the hell out of me... because I am very worried that it is going to suck.

This movie is a good time. I could see it again.

Collateral Damage - 6/10

I didn't bother seeing this one in theaters earlier this year, but I did grab the video. I can say that I was pleased to see Arnold still doing what he does best. The producers made a movie with some pretty detailed terroist ploys, went sparingly on the Arnold-isms, and spent a pretty penny to do buttloads of explosions. There was a lot, and I mean *A LOT* (!) of action in this movie.

Taking away from all that, the plot was pretty generic and exactly what you would expect in an Arnold movie. It follows the same general formula -- terrorists + Arnold + tragedy = revenge = war, death, chaos.... and, as usual, old Arnie was invinsible to all sorts of impossibilities.... but we already knew that right? To top it off, they tried to throw in a surprise at the end with the girl turning bad and killing everybody -- SHE'S THE TERRORIST LORD'S WIFE, WHAT DID WE EXPECT?

But, thinking it over, who better than Ah-nuld to keep bringing these movies to life. I couldn't think of one person that has earned that place in action movies, and I've seen many try. I look forward to the T3 movie and many more projects to come.
