Okay, looking at this page seeing no reviews, I guess I'm the only guy who's girlfriend suckered him into seeing this little movie http://www.joblo.com/ubb/smile.gif. Not that it's a bad thing, though. I enjoyed it. It's prolly one of the more interesting and more entertaining Disney movies I've seen.

It was exactly what it was supposed to be - cute. Stitch was just damn cute. How anyone would actually believe it was a dog is beyond me, but hey, it's just a harmless little cartoon, I don't think anyone should comprehend too much. it's biggest point is to watch a cute little blue alien surfing Hawaii, doing Elvis, and foiling evil aliens, while spouting out things like "aloha!" and "i'm cute and fluffy!".... so, yea! that's the point.....

I guess the purpose is supposed to be to show little kids that someone (something?) everyone is afraid of can be cute and gentle to those nice to him (it?). The enemies were a little lame... it was supposed to be funny so there ya go! It ends about as obvious as possible. I guess if I were 6 years old (as intended) I wouldn't be comprehending, but regardless, this movie was very cute and I think everyone should check it out when it comes out on video & dvd.

I thought it was quite entertaining. A nice rebound for Disney. It was exactly what it was supposed to be. Cute and fun. My girlfriend even cried in the appropriate spots. And that damned Stitch character WAS cute. Not just for kids.

The movie was awesome. Being from Hawaii it really hit home with the pidgin english and the Hawaiian songs. I cried in the movie and I couldn't stop. I would recommend it to anyone.

Lilo and Stitch
8/10

“Ohana means Family. Family means no-one gets left behind. Or forgotten.” This is the core message of this animated Sci-Fi comedy-adventure from Walt Disney Pictures. When I first saw the trailer I was amused. I thought it would be a hilarious fest of messing up and craziness coming from this little monster, whose name is Stitch. Well, I wasn’t disappointed. To my surprise the film was not just the fun-show it seemed to be. It had a real message to address its main audience of children who’d mostly be driven by the cuteness of the main characters. Unlike dozens of kid-pics that depend on cheap laughs and sometimes gross-out incidents, Lilo & Stitch departs into another much needed type of pictures: to be funny and to have a heart.

Lilo (voiced by the very cute Daviegh Chase) is a lonely Hawaiian girl. Actually she’s VERY lonely and her loneliness makes her an alienated and hostile girl. She lives with her sister, Nani (Tia Carrere), and both of them seem to be missing the family life. One day, Lilo wishes upon a falling star for an angel to keep her company and be her friend. And the Heaven answers by sending Stitch (voiced by co-director Chris Sanders). The latter is a cast-out alien who’s been created by a nutty scientist from a far-away galaxy to be a destroying machine. Fate will lead Lilo and her sister to get Stitch as a pet. Trouble starts when Stitch has to pretend to be a “pet” in order to be kept by his new owners. Not that he likes them, but because he’s being chased by the nutty scientist and an amazingly funny assistant. To make it more disastrous, Nani also has to work hard to keep custody of Lilo because the social worker is not satisfied with the way the little girl’s life is going on.

This film is the directorial debut for both directors Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois and they’ve also written the script. This is, however, not their first time in working together. Their previous writing collaboration was the similarly funny Mulan back in 1998. Truth be said, one should expect a lot from them. Stitch is a brilliant creation, and though the plot may sound a little bit too messy (just like the main character) they have really handled it very well. The dialogue is simple but witty. The characters are all believable and funny and every person, young or old, should find someone among them to relate himself to. The development of the main characters is made very carefully to make the kids understand it. It’s taken step by step and put in a way that the minds of the viewers will absorb it through some thrilling and action-packed sequences. And despite the film being a comedy in its essence it has its heartwarming and touching moments, for the final reel is really great and I had a tear rolling from my eyes when Stitch starts to understand the meaning of family and how important it is. This is cleared side by side with Lilo’s feeling that she really has to settle down and be a good girl. She doesn’t want to lose her sister either and the three of them just get to apprehend and appreciate the importance of sticking together as a family, each with his responsibilities and duties. Still as a whole unit.

Visually the film is not as stunning as with recent traditional animated features from Disney. I read somewhere that it’s the first time in six decades in which Disney artists use watercolor backgrounds. They work well. The children will be, apparently, drawn into the main characteristics of their heroes and they are nothing less than excellent. But the older viewer may not feel that the film’s visuals are especially good. Sometimes they felt a little bit too simple, but with a story as involving and action-packed as we have here one shouldn’t complain much.

All in all, and though “Lilo and Stitch” is not going to change the ways of animation, it still is a very solid example of how to make a good family movie. It’s not just about the laughs. It’s not just about the thrills. It’s not just about the visuals and style. It also has got to have a certain message. It has to move something in the youngers’ consciousness, as it should do with dazzling their imagination. “Lilo and Stich” delivers on both levels.

Lilo & Stitch - 9/10

Lilo & Stitch tells a tale of family, and importance of a family and keeping promises. A delightful tale full of cool animations (which they showed on DVD Special Feature, will explain later), intresting characters, and just a really cool animated flick.

Lilo & Stitch is a story of a broken family, Lilo and her sister Nani live in an a house together in Hawaii. With constant fights and arguments, it shows that the family has issues. Lilo is a lonely young girl, and one day Nani hopes to solve this problem by letting Lilo adopt a pet. Meanwhile, while all this family dilemna occurs, an alien lifeform named Experiment 626 who escapes his planet and comes to earth ironically landing into the shelter Lilo goes to... of course she adopts him naming him stitch and fun, chaos and problems ensue.

A great flick in my opinion. Like others have said, it's not one of those kid flicks to make some laughs, and just really cheesey. This movie is a heart warming movie which provides laughs in its own way not like others which deliver cheesey laughs.

This movie is an animated one with really fun animation, they had a feature about it and how they animated it, not making it out of lines and more "harder" animation, but making it more rounded and soft which you can see, which they said is easier on the eyes, which I totally agree with, it just feels good to watch it animated.

The characters are very intresting and aren't just simple average kid flick characters, I think we all in a way can relate to one character or another, may it be Nani, Lilo, David, or Stitch, Everyone can relate to them.

The music and soundtrack to Lilo & Stitch is great, it has some awesome hawaiian tunes (which I fell in love with and download one :-[), songs really catchy and fit right into Lilo & Stitch. They even went to a school in Hawaii to get Hawaiin children sing this sogn and sing it right.

Speaking of going to Hawaii for songs, they also went to get dancing instructions. Opening scene is a when Lilo comes in late for her dancing practice and they do a dance, to not just make it seem like "oh that's hawaiin dancing" they actually went to professional dances and they showed them how to do it, they hired dancers, and then animated it, now that is really smart.

This has to be probably my favourite animated flick in a LONG time, and one of my favourite disney ones (although those new Pixar ones are catching my fancy pretty quick), with an heart warming plot and storyline, cool characters, an overall great time for kids and parents alike.

This movie was the best one iv'e seen in a long time. The characters fit every profile. The aspect of a child growing up without parents and finding something to make her life complete again is wonderful for all who watch it. "Ohana" is a wonderful phrase to add to everyday living. Just knowing that no matter what happens there will always be someone there to help you, is what this world needs to be all about.

And the simple fact that they were able to create a series, to be able to add more family members/cousins, just goes to show how everyone felt about this movie in general. This is a real family film.

I didn't like Lilo And Stitch very much, don't get me wrong, i'm not one of those idiots that hates cartoon movies just because they're for kids, but I thought it was kinda overrated and didnt see what all the fuss was about.
