OK, I'll give it to ya straight. I HATE REALITY SHOWS! That includes Survivor, Big Brother, The Real World, Popstars (from any country), and tons of other crap. So then why do I love this show? I don't know. I think it may be watching the judges (Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson, and Simon Callow) blast the contestants when they sing! It's great! I wish I had gotten a chance to see the original English version, Pop Idol. I don't like the singing, but I find the show entertaining.
What does everyone else think about it? Do you like Tamyra, Ryan, and Jim getting to the next round? Don't you dislike Jim? Opinions!

Is Simon Cowell as cutting in the American Version?
He was a prime twat on the British one...
Extremely enjoyable nonetheless!

Man, Simon's a bitch! Paula Abdul (you remember her, right?) keeps telling him that he has to lighten up and go easier on the contestants, to stop telling them that they should sue their voice coach, etc. It's great!

I'm not sure anyone actually enjoyed Pop Idol here in Britain...sorry, mistake.
I'm not sure anyone over the age of 8 actually enjoyed Pop Idol here in Britain.
God awful show!
But i watched a few episodes to see the hot girl from swansea, who doesn't live that far away from me http://www.joblo.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

The only thing i did enjoy was seeing Simon make these Self absorbed, egotistical, vain, shallow little petit people cry by saying things like: -
"That is one of my favourite songs ever...not anymore."
Congratulating them on being able to kill such classics, which he never thought was possible to do.

Isn't it ironic, given this, that the winner (on Cowells record label) has just released a version of Light My Fire so bad it almost make me wish The Doors had never written it.
And the B side is an appaling version of (another of my favourite songs) Ain't No Sunshine.

A tad harsh love...
Surely the Pop Idol Contestants don't deserve a verbal hammering such as this one!
Contrary to popular British belief, participating in a reality TV show does not automatically qualify you as being pretensious, self-absorbed and pompous.
There are likeable individuals and self-absorbed arseholes in equal measure!
I'm certain that many of the Pop Idol finalists are grounded, talented and hard-working individuals!
NOTE: I aint directing the following at anyone in particular!
It is becoming increasingly popular to climb aboard the "I hate Reality TV" band-wagon...
I fail to see how this genre of entertainment is corrupting Music/Television/The Family/Social interaction...whatever...
There have been some preposterous claims coming to light recently...No doubt courtesy of the good ol' Daily Mail!
It fucking riles me when people whine about the state of modern music...The decline of the charts due to the predominance of "disposable" Pop outfits...The need to rid the world of Will Young, Atomic Kitten, Gareth Gates...and their evil S-Club minions!
THERE IS GREAT FUCKING MUSIC AROUND...THERE ALWAYS HAS BEEN...LOOK HARDER YOU FUCKING SIMPLETONS!!!
*Pulp
*The White Stripes
*Radiohead
*Sigur Ros
*David Bowie
*Badly Drawn Boy
*REM
*Mercury Rev
Just a few examples!!!
LIVE AND LET LIVE!!!
Lets be honest...We all have that "ropey" album amongst our collection...Some people have more than others!
Will Young's fan-base is hugely made up of individuals around the 8-12 age-range!
Let the kiddies have their fucking fun...You enjoy your "real" music...but please refrain from verbally attacking an individual with a penchance for Liberty X

PS: Will's version of Light my Fire is based on the Jose Feliciano adaptation...
An highly enjoyable "poppy" interpretation IMO!
