I've watched Star Wars 1 & 2 and this is my opinion.
The first: The pod race was good but the kid did a horrible acting. Overall it was a shitty movie.
The second: I think that they are breaking some new ground with special efects but the horrible acting (except for Ewan McGreggor and Samuel Jackson) totally ruined the movie. The yoda fight was great but overall it was a shitty movie.
I can't believe these idiots wait in line for months. What's your opinon on the Star Wars prequels?

What do I think? I think you are in for a pasting, my friend. A few things you should try to avoid:
Try not to be dismissive of the Coens.
Never say you hated Magnolia/Requiem for a Dream/Donnie Darko.
NEVER EVER say anything about Star ars or LOTR. I like all these things but most of the people are fanatics.
Some people will agree but remember...they take Star Wars v. seriously round these parts!
Hope you make it to the other side in one piece.

I think the whole purpose of these prequels is for George Lucas and 20th CENTURY FOX to make as much money as they can. Since the "HOLY TRILOGY" as ARROW once called it has got such a great reputation, I can see why people wait in line for days. But now they may be starting to realize that the new trilogy is just an overhyped cash machine. Cause less attentionis going toward these movies and more to LOTR and MATRIX. This is just my opinion, I know some will beg to differ though.

I thought that The Phantom Menace was pretty good, the acting was sufferable and the story was not so cliched, it also harked back to the best bits of the star wars trilogy with the whole peeking round corners and shooting thing.
Attak Of The Clones was boring, I spent the entire film thinking "Are they going to have a big scrap yet?" and then when the big fight came around it was nothing exceptional.
Reigh Kaufman you missed off the number one rule of the boards: Do not talk about fight club (in a bad light)

Oversight. Thanks for pointing it out to me.
"Not that I don't love your little visits *waves hand sarcastically* bye" - see General Forum under 'Little moments in movies that you like but don't understand why' for explanation...
How does one become a moderator anyway? I want to be a moderator. I want to be a moderator noooow!
Welcome to this forum my friend!
For you information there are many topics refered to the Star Wars Saga.
To discuss The Phantom Menace you can go to the Video Reviews Forum, and there are also some topics in the Current Movie Forum about The Attack of the Clones.
You can also find Joblo's review of The Attack of the Clones in the What do you think forum and around here there are some topics for the Episode III.
I hope you'll find this information usable.

I thought both Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones were great. I just think people are so used to the old trilogy movies (ex. characters, actors etc) and look at the new trilogy movies like they weren't even Star Wars. Thats why I think when Episode 3 comes out and we all get to see the birth of Darth Vader, that people will consider it the best of the prequels.

I can't understand why people insist on calling "Attack of the Clones" boring!! I heard a woman on television call it "Souless". WHAT?? AotC is easily the best Star Wars since "The Empire Strikes Back" and I simply don't understand what the hell more would have had to be done to make it anymore interesting than it already was. I am not a huge Star Wars fan by any means but I thought AotC was the best movie of the summer. And it always makes me laugh that all the people that bitch about how bad the "Phantom Menace" was, Are the same people that stood in line all night to see AotC and will more than likely be the same ones that will be there waiting to see Episode III. Hypocrites!!!

I don't think the two prequels have been as good as the original trilogy up to now, but they're good movies nevertheless. I thought THE PHANTOM MENACE was good, and that ATTACK OF THE CLONES was fantastic and highly enjoyable. It's true some characters don't have the same charisma characters from the original trilogy, and it's true the acting isn't as good as in the original trilogy (although Ewan McGregor and Samuel L. Jackson have been perfect from beginning to end). And it's true the story isn't as symbolic and well-conceived as the original trilogy. And it's true the dialogue is just average (I think because Lucas is insisting on writing much of the script alone, and not co-writing it with someone as good as Lawrence Kasdan or someone like that).
That said, they're still very entertaining movies, with impressive special effects, beautiful music, and the potential to make us dream of a galaxy far, far away for a couple of hours again. I think that ain't that bad already. :)
